My buddy called me up today and asked if I would buy his Lux off him since he's in need of some money...

As the title explains, it's a 14(?) inch single chamber bubble-bottom Lux that is in perfect shape. I've tried out quite a few different bongs and Lux has always held the top spot in my experiences so I jumped at the offer to buy it from him.

I am perfectly content with $150 for the quality of the glass (and since my buddy needs money) but what would you guys be willing to pay for one? Also, does anyone know what they retail for on average?

I won't be picking it up from him until Wednesday so I won't have any photos until then but here's an example picture from a thread on GC (from what I can tell, the exact same model):

And best of all, I found a buyer for my PHiRE straight tube that I absolutely hate.
    :smoking:

  2. I payed 250 for that exact same setup + a case + some extras.

  3. I'm not very knowledgable of high end bongs but i would have given 150 for a nice bong like that

  4. 3arm perc? or 5? looks like a 3 to me but it could be the the angle.

  5. I believe it is a closed 4 arm china perc. I personally wouldn't pay that much for a used one, and if it has a perc, it isn't a single chamber. The bottom on it may not be consistent in thickness of glass, and the joint is probably pretty cheap.

All in all, a run of the mill tube:wave:

  6. Well have you tried it out since it's your buddies? Do you like it? If you do, go for it. 150 for a used lux is a ok deal.

  7. mines a 5 arm

  8. Yeah I have and I really like it, which is why I'm willing to buy it.

For questions about the number of arms on the perc, it's a 5 arm with triangular slits at the bottom (which are all very perfectly cut, actually what impressed me most about it).

  9. After thinking about how small 14" really is I think my estimate was off...It's at least a 16", most likely 17" (hell, it's probably 16.5" if we want to be exact but I'll measure it when I pick it up).

I can't wait to grab it so I can snap some photos...does anyone else here own the triangle opening tree perc style Lux? Or, has anyone else seen this style?

The only up-close images I'm really seeing online appear to be either circular or triple slit style arms (but most images are of mini's). Does anyone know if these (the triangular) are a more rare or a discontinued style? It's hard to find much info on them online...

  10. Lux doesn't make closed arms percs and it is certainly not china LOL

  11. I was going to say something but sometimes you just gotta let people yap. :D

  12. My bad, I couldn't really tell from the picture, but it looked closed, so thats what I thought. I don't really pay attention to lux, so I dont know. Maybe next time I should keep my mouth shut :D

great scoop for $150! they retail for 200-300 depending on where youre at. i paid 270 for my lux mini straight when i had less of an idea about glass :)
is yours gonna be the one you pictured? the oldest version with that slitted downstem?, 4 arms probably? id be pumped if i were you.

the percs have 2 slits and 1 slit on the bottom of each. the old roor us put out great joints and always had consistantly thick glass. 3.2mm all around, even on the bubble, is whats on lux minis.

  14. Lux is Roors little sister.

  15. yeah definitely a good scoop for the price. these old lux minis aren't bad at all, and for 150 you got a good deal.

  16. Huh? Lux + china perc = alternate reality. Though MANY of Lux's percs were contracted out to a shop besides Dementia they were never imported.

  17. Sweet deal Brota. Used or not, still does the same shit ya know. Especially cool when you buy off your friends, it feels better that way since you know the dude. $150 ain't bad at all. Have fun man.

  18. It's very similar overall to the one pictured. I found the original thread on another forum and the OP specified it as a 14.5" 4-arm but the arms are different than the model my buddy has. I can't really explain from memory the whole triangle deal, I'll just have to post some pics tomorrow when I get it from him. It may be a 4-arm but for some reason I've always thought it was a 5 (never did count though).

I do think the diffuser is like the one in the image though...It's times like these I wish I wasn't so high every time I went over my buddy's!!!

And I really hope I'm not making up the whole triangle thing .

I'm definitely pumped for it, upgrading from a garbage PHiRE will definitely be a treat. I only used the PHiRE about 5 times personally and classify it up there with some of my worst investments ever.

I've been on a vape kick for a few months now (Da Buddha) so we'll see if this wins my love back for glass :hello:
