Just chopped down my last two babes. Pulled 16 ounces after trimmed. just curious to how much it would be after dry. hopefully 4-7 ounces.
dont rush the cure.very critical to tale your time and let t dry slowly.i had 2.5 lbs. wet and dry got 10 oz.roughly you wll end up w/ approx. 25% of whot you got now.so you should have at the least 4 oz. 4 oz. of dank sn't bad.
sounds good to me, it isnt very very dense, so I am guessing on the lighter side, but a qp works for me!
Not sure why you would weigh it wet. I only weigh the usable product. To me it is like weighing the roots and fan leaves. Please don't take it the wrong way, but it seems like a waste of time. Congratulations on your harvest.
I'll disagree. I've been tracking both wet and dried weights of multiple strains. The ratio has been telling, both of density, and environmental conditions. When the environment was hotter, a higher percentage of the plant mass was water, by up to 8% compared to my cooler spring and fall harvests. I haven't had any winter harvests yet, but I'm going to guess that I'll see a decrease in the ratio of water/plant with the cooler temperatures. Also, the ratio is different depending on the strain. My denser strains had a lower ratio of water in the initial wet weight than the fluffier ones. This could as well be correlated to the fact that the fluffier weeds dry quicker and more completely, when compared to denser genotypes. Is it necessary? hell no. But it's insightful. -- OP, from 68% - 80% water from what I've recorded.
You could also weight the root ball to see how much more root growth you got from one grow cycle to another. You can also count all your fan leaves and use a micrometer to measure the thickness and record and compare the data. Lots of "after the fact" simi useless data can be collected. My point is, your yield and quality will be known after it's dried. Best to spend your time cleaning your grow room real good and prep'n for the next grow cycle. If you can't tell if you have a dense quality bud without weighing it wet, then have your friends tell you. Also, I find it a lot easier to do my trimming after it's dried a bit. trying to trim while it's wet seems to be a bit messy. Hanging the plant in big pieces while it dries can save you a lot of hassle. New Years Day single plant harvest:
