I'm currently building a grow box out of an old speaker box.

    It is 3 x 1.4 x 1 ft (approx 4.2 cubic ft).

I want to use a 150w HPS bulb and have the ballast on the outside of the box. The only ventilation i will be having is a 20 cfm pc fan blowing through a carbon filter.

Will the heat buildup be too much to put that bulb in there? I'm only growing 2 plants.

  2. It will definitely be too much heat if all you're using to vent is a 20cfm pc fan. It probably won't even be able to pull through a carbon filter

This is my first grow so give me all the critique you can, but isn't that what it should be? 4.2 cubic ft x 5 times refresh per min? Isn't that what it should be?

Those open holes are all intake also but will be cover later by black screen leaning on the speaker

  4. Would a 68cfm fan be good with passive intake and a 150w HPS?
