hey guys, i have a 2x2x4 box with 1 150 hps. the thing is i just had a 100 mh in there and the plants were loving it. and yesterday and got the hps, so i swapped the lights out. i came back and looked in there and two of my plants looked died. very wilted. so i check the soil it was dry so i watered them. they came back up in 10 mins. and i also raised the light to a foot away, what do you guys could think could of happened. i do not think they would bonce back that fast just from raising the lights would they? i was thinking it could be the water. and is a foot to tall to have that light away from the plants(1foot). would that cause unwanted stretching?
It was most likely the water, they rebound very fast when they're rehydrated. You can put your hand level with the top of the plants and do a quick check if it's too hot. If it was too hot you would have most likely either killed them or got burn marks. Also MH is generally better for vegging, I'd put the HPS in when getting ready to flower.
