NOOOOOOO do not put into a regular socket (if it will even fit) I did not spend any time on that site but at LEAST find a set up that has the ballast and socket matched to that bulb. Go to elights.com and look up grow lights they have a complete 100W HPS set up for $115.00. I got my 250 from them they also have some good information on grow light area coverage. AND YES YOU NEED A SPECIAL BALLAST AND SOCKET FOR MH OR HPS.
