131-day T-break

  1. So I've made a decision to quit smoking weed.

Not forever. Dear God no. I love it too much to ever do that. But I'm heading into my 2nd semester of my teaching degree, and I want to concentrate my energies solely on that. I smoked last semester and I did fine, but I found myself leaving things too much to the last minute. I don't want to do that again, especially since there's even more work to do this semester.

Whilst I love it, I think I'll be better off not smoking until I'm done for the semester. I'm also going on a beach vacation when school's done so losing weight should be made easier since I'll be snacking less and be more in the frame of mind to work out. When I'm high, snacks are great and not working out is even greater. That's just who I am.

Plus, I've always loved after not smoking for a few days. Smoking again after about 5 months should be absolutely amazing. After reading the 87-day t-break thread and his description of his first high after it ended, I'm actually looking forward to a truly amazing high.

This decision was made with a lot of thought, and knowledge of who I am. Some people can do homework high, but I'm not one of them. Since my future hinges on this degree, smoking has to be set aside. Until the summer. And damn will I ever be high this summer.

    I can't wait.

  2. Good, responsible decision man. Good luck with that teaching degree. What kind of teaching are you going for?

  3. Good to see an extremely responsible person here. Theres not enough people in the world like you, and I salute you for making the right decision.

  4. Thanks. By the end of the the two year program I'll be teaching the wee ones in elementary school. Fun age, and I'm pretty excited about it. Not too sure how I'll cooperate with the "weed will KILL YOU DEAD" programs but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

  5. Wow thats a long t-break, but I think its the right decision, shows your maturity level

  6. It's strange, without any weed in the house I almost never think about it. When I do have a stash I can't want to get home to smoke it. I think this 131 days should go by pretty easily.

    So far so good anyway.

  7. So did you just start? I want to do the same thing, but not for 5 months haha, couldnt pull that off. Im thinking a week to start haha, we'll see how that goes first.

But all the power to you man! You got something to really look forward to!

  8. Prob a good idea to stop for awhile to make sure you do really well, not worth suffering long term by doing poorly over the semester when you can stop for a short period. Plus that first toke next semester is going to be great. Careful with "I can't wait" cause looking forward to it too much is going to drive u crazy.

  9. Good luck dude, you're going to get absolutely out of your mind ripped and it's going to be so worth it :hello:

  10. The last time I smoked was January 5th, so we're approaching three weeks here. 131 days is a bit of a guess, but it should be enough time for this semester and a three week holiday immediately after that.

I hadn't even really thought of it until today when I realized I hadn't even been thinking about it! I've never been a daily smoker, but three weeks is the longest I've gone in years. I know that if I DID have any on me I wouldn't have lasted.

Also helping things is that few of my friends smoke very much, if at all. Generally I'm the one who supplies it so when I don't smoke, neither do they! If any of my friends were regular smokers I don't think I'd go the full 131 days.

The main reason I'm doing it is school but shit, toking after 5 DAYS rules. 5 months? I don't want to set expectations too high but I'm looking forward to the high of a lifetime.

  11. ^^ hahahahahahahahahaha

  12. SEE, weed isnt bad..your a perfect example..but wheres your commercial? LOL

  13. Seriously, one of my favourite Family Guy moments EVAR.

No kidding. I seriously wonder how I'll handle the anti-drug programs I'll come across. I mean, I honestly believe that most people under the age of 18 should stay away from it (mostly for developmental reasons, since the brain is still forming and who knows how any outside substance can affect it) but adults should be free to choose, damnit!

The morons in charge like to ignore people like me....even though we're the majority of pot smokers. There's too much money in persecuting (yes, persecuting) marijuana users for them to every legalize it. One third of cops would lose their jobs, and privately run prisions would see their profits nosedive. Of course, jobs would be created from farming it, selling it and selling accessories and taxes would be raised, but the law enforcement lobby is too powerful in the US to allow that to happen at this point.

Give or take. Might be a few days earlier, might be a few days later. I'll know by mid April what the score is.

I've been weed-free for over a month now, which is the longest I've gone in a few years. I gotta say, it's been easy. I'm sure that's just cause none of my friends really smoke so I'm not surrounded by it or missing out on anything by avoiding them.

School's been going well, I'm glad I decided to do this semester smoke-free. Shit's getting done quicker so there's fewer late nights.

When I do toke again, I'm totally going to log into here and type my thoughts as I'm getting baked. Should be interesting!

Anyone else have any long-term t-break stories? Are you on a t-break right now? If so, why?

  15. I'm currently on a one day t-break. Its been hard but i think i can make it through, yet i'm still not sure.

Oh, and its nice to see someone that has enough maturity to be able to put down the herb to focus on other things for a while. Kudos to you.

  16. Lol, I don't think that even qualifies as a break, bro. I have those all the time, and I call them "a day when I don't have weed."

  17. Don't remind me :(

  18. Brrrrooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I've been on my T-break since December 15th and i just ripped the fattest hit out of my buddies bong. I'm scared to take another one, i've already got the shakies and pasties.

  19. haha damn man I feel the pain of you being weed-free in multiple posts, wish I could send some bomb NL x Skunk #1 your way, but sadly I'm also not toking for at least this week
