12'x16' shed should I use tents? Recommended lights?

Short term I am planning on growing in a 12'x16' shed this winter until I can build my pole barn in the spring. I have researched a ton about lights but it seems every video I watch seems to contradict the next. I am looking to maximize my yield this go around since I will have a month or so with nothing growing due to destroying the shed and replacing it with a pole barn.

I have seen many suggestions on growing in tents but not much on growing in a shed. The building is not attached to anything else. I was planning on just sealing all the possible cracks on the shed and insulating it.

I just got done running a 200 amp service to this shed so not limited on amps. Some swear by their old trusty HPS and others say LED. I was planning on spending around $3,000 on lights if it was worth it. Shed currently has about 9' ceiling at edge and 11' in center.

Looking to order the lights in next couple of days.

I can grow up to 24 plants. Looking for best yield possible. 1st time growing inside.

I was looking at some of the following but just not sure. Any help is appreciated

    Crecer Lighting PanthrX II
    SPIDER FARMER SF-4000 LED
    MARS HYDRO TS 3000W LED
    Double Ended 1000W HPS/MH

  2. SPIDER FARMER SF-4000 LED

6 of them for 24 plants would beast

  4. Agree I have one of them in my 4*4 and its killing it

  5. More par value than a 1 k watt HP's only running 485 watts

  6. Even if it had less, not growing under a street light beats it for me lmao.

  7. I have one of those I found on the street a few years ago.. It was just chilling on a pole and thought what a waste so unbolted it and put it to good use

  8. I'm a QB fan here. But not knowing what your winters are like or if your shed has heat, hps/mh put out a lot more heat than qb's. As far as tents I think the biggest use is for controlling smell. If smell wasn't a problem I wouldn't be using them. They do great at controlling smell with a carbon filter. I have ten foot ceilings and could grow monsters but I'm stuck at 3 feet max in my tent.

  9. A shed would be a perfect place if you can control the temps and humidity.. Co2 would be a must completely self sustaining

  10. I live in Michigan. Currently I have not installed anything for heat yet, been debating on a few options and was waiting to see if one happens to become a scratch/dent price (HVAC contractor). The shed being outside will smell no matter what I do. I plan on adding a carbon filter at the top for exhaust purposes. Unfortunately only on 2 acres so I do have some neighbors

But will be going with a ductless unit for heat and cool purposes. Something variable speed that can have multiple heads. That way when I build the barn, I can still make use of it for a clone/veg room

  11. Plan on running CO2 once the barn is built but the set up i was looking at seemed overkill for this little shed. If wood prices were not 2.5 times the norm, I would just build the barn now.

  12. Thank you for this. I just received 4x spider farmer lights today. If I like them I I will order another 2-4. Getting the shed spray foamed this weekend. I have grown outside over the years but decided to switch to inside at the new house. Going to be trenching the yard up for a water line and gas line over the week or so as well.

Debating on throwing up plywood and painting or using white board like a friend of mine is doing.

My shed has a loft at 6.5' on bottom 7 ' to ground from top side (2x6) that takes up half the shed. Going to remove that this weekend. Just got the lady to agree to allow me to put clones in the house so I will need to divide the shed to make a veg room and a flower room.

I am going to try my hand at a DWC system. Have done hydroponics many years ago for tomato plants but that was long ago.
