125w 6500k CFL Question

  1. I recently bought a 125w cfl bulb/ballast w/ reflector. My question is what is it's comparable wattage to a HID light? I know that the smaller CFLs have two different outputs; efficiency and energy. What is the actual "energy" output for a 125w CFL and will it be enough to light 8-10 plants into flowering?

  2. I don't know of any lighting that can handle that many plants unless its a 1000w HID or the Sun

  3. a 125W CFL is sufficient for 1 plant or 2 small ones IMO.

  4. I will be nearing close to 1000 output watts with my final set up.

  5. It's actual watts that count. Not equivalent. 125w CFL will cover 1, maybe 2 plants at most. The smaller CFL's are much more efficient than their larger siblings in lumen per watt output AND you can cover the top and sides with multiple bulbs hanging around the plant(s). I have 2 125w Feliz CFL's that I never use because they are so freakin' hot.

  6. I'd have those babies on 24/7.
