Discussion in 'Marijuana Grow Journals' started by Droblowa24, Feb 18, 2007.

  1. Dimensions- 8ft deep, 9ft wide, 7.5ft tall.

Materials- 31 5 gal. black buckets (1 extra for mixing), 45 6in' air stones, 3 massive industrial air pumps, fish string (for tying air-stones at bottom), attic fan (1300 cfm), carbon scrubber, Turbine fan sucking air through the carbon filter blowing outside room, some sort of foil that "reflects" just in case... 150ft of mylar, expanding clay rocks, and thats about it...

Nutrients- Tri-flex BASE, GROW, BLOOM, floralicous (sp), PH down/up, some enzyme stuff that helps plants fight off bacteria etc

Lighting- 1 600w HPS HORTILUX, and 1 600w MH (going for Dual Spectrum)

This is all i can think of right now, if i remember more i will be sure to add. The room is still being worked on (tubing to pumps etc.)

  2. hey dro, looks like the start of a nice setup! got some clones ready? where did you find those buckets? i have some but need more and i can't find them, thanks...

  3. I found these at our local hydroponic store...no where else had them like they are. we treid home depot, lowes, etc. Maybe a nursery would be a good place to find some..but those exact ones were bought at a hydro store. Any other questions and ill be glad to answer...

ALSO, yeah, the plants are at another location under 25-30,000 lumens of CFLS..they will be ready in a couple days...we're still putting the small things together in this room so yeah...any advise would be appreciated, thanks!

  4. pics of the carbon filter, the air stones tied at the bottom of each bucket..etc

  5. thanks, i'll find those buckets again! looks like you don't need any advice. i've been thinking of doing the bucket thing fully automated. you have meters right? i keep a back-up pair in case i have a prob. milwaukee make good stuff...

  6. Like PH etc meters? We're going to buy a nice one...any suggestions to meters that liek come with everything we need? Plus we are about to spend $200-300 on UVB lights for some sugary bud :D, and a couple fans...temps stay right under 80F but thats not good enough...

  7. milwaukee and hanna make good meters...

  8. Nice ill check those out. Thanks for the advise.

  9. So any takers on final weight? I know its WAY early to tell but 15 plants x 1200w dual spectrum with LST on all 15...We're getting them at about 1.5 weeks old and judging by size (4-5 inches last seen) we might veg for a week or just jump right into 12/12...

  10. how hany hoods you gonna run? i don't think it's possible to get 15 5 gallon buckets under one hood, or even 2. i ran a value brite 6" air cooled hood and barely get 6 under it. good luck.

  11. We built one giant hood...look closely both lights are hanging from it. if the plants get too tall it can be removed...i'm not worried about it getting hot...theres a 1300cfm fan blowing on the hood:D and in the second pic you can see how the buckets will be set up...again this is still being constructed so any advise is welcome...

  12. You better have a good portion of your day set aside for nute management and testing.. also, do you have a water supply close at hand? 1 bucket for mixing nutes? wow.. I have 1 bucket to keep my 5 full and i takes me a while, i'm going to try and rig up some sort of rez. system or maybe go with a few 15 gal tubs. when i get my clones up and running

  13. We'll have plenty of time to be in there..it wouldnt look like it did if we didnt have time to put into it...Yes a water source is near. Any ideas on mixing etc cuz that might take a while..maybe one big mixing reservoir ..i dunno

  14. I really like the 1 big rez idea, BUT, the way i do nutes my nutes change based on how the plant behaves, so a big rez wouldnt work.

also. I have 6 plants under 2 HPS 400w.s and i'm not super hapy with the spread.. you might need at least 1 more light

  15. you think one more light? we plan on spending alot on UVB and spreading them through out the middle...

  16. I think your going to have an umanagable jungle and you won't be able to get to the back plants. You only want 2-3 uvb lights, the reptile 10.0 is the way to go. Oh and to adequately light the whole room you'll need four HID lights.

  17. You can find buckets like that and black lids for the buckets at http://www.bghydro.com The have hose and barbed fittings as well.

  18. Check out that link, you seem like you've got time and money to spend, if you want some real uv look into those mercury vapor bulbs. But yeah I just picked up a ReptiSun 10.0 too. Props to Mister Postman for showing us the way. Peace

  19. Thanks for that link and of course Mister Postmans great advice. I got the UVB idea reading along his journal;) Also saw his pic in the new HIGH TIMES magazine...very nice.. So what was it...i would need 4 HID bulbs to light the whole room? Would it be worth it to spend that much more or just cut down to maybe...12 plants...i dont know

  20. Check my grow out to better consider what can be a complished with fewer plants. And personally, unless I was a...planning on going a...commercial, half that room will more than supply you and your close budies/family with all the bud they can smoke.
