12 day old Wet Dream

I’ve got her in black magik soil/5g smart bag under 2 85w 1100lumen 5000k bulbs and 1 65w 500 lumen 2700k bulb. It has spent the last week outside in full sun and now I plan on doing 24 hour veg until I reach desired height. I haven’t put any nutrients into the soil so far and I’m planning on topping after the 3rd node grows out a bit. Any advice, feedback or criticism is welcome please and thank you! She’s only 12 days old from seed btw.

    looks like a very healthy seedling. Maybe wait untill the 5th node to top( I've read this on most guides/topping strategies) but keep up the good work.

    I've also read that. Makes no sense to me. I vote 3rd always unless high topping. This auto I have mainlined now started at the very first node.

    The reasoning to wait for 4th or 5th node is so there’s a strong root system to allow a quicker recovery. I veg under t5’s 6500k so 4th or 5th node topping works well for me since the plant is so short. Others vegging under HPS or LEDs might want to wait for the 4th or 5th node as far as root development, but top above the second node due to height.

    Maybe I’ll top at 4th node, I have a 5 ft clearance and this strain looks more indica dom so It may not grow too tall. I just transplanted from a quart sized pot to this 5 gallon pot yesterday so I also want to wait a couple of days before stressing again, and at that point she should be on her 4th node. I added a space heater to my set up and did a very light nute watering this morning.

    What do you guys think about my light set up? This is my first indoor grow I’ve done multiple outdoor grows but this is very different. Any advice is welcome.

    decent for now, but as it gets bigger I would upgrade to a real light. Topping at that 5th node is supposed to decrease recovery time because the plant is more well established by then, although like above said, at the 3rd probably be fine aslong as its nice and healthy

    What kind of light would you recommend? I’m not trying to go over 100$ for the light anything under is good with me. Also if this plant turns out to be female I’ll be taking clones, and I can only have up to 3 plants in the space.

    Your light is your main tool, the more you put in, the more you get out. I wouldn’t expect to get much yield from a cheap light, if you don’t care about getting that much then i would probably get a cheaper Led light, or if you can control the heat a 600w hps is pretty cheap, although it will cost more than 100 but you will see good results with it. It’s not so much the amnt of plants. But the sq footage of your flowering area.

    I’ve probably got about 6sq ft and a ceiling of 4-5ft

    And this is why I prefer outdoor growing, the only issue is the time of year right now I don’t think it would veg enough before it flips to flower.

    If you’ve only grown outdoor, wait until you smoke your own indoor. So much better

    So u got a 3x2 foot area? That wouldnt take much light for that area, thats pretty tight though. Make sure you don’t get them too big before flipping. A good rule is about 35-50 wats per sq foot, so if u could get a 300 watt output led light would be pretty good, and mylar your shit up. A good led for that size would be about 250- 400 bucks though( i only buy high quality ones) they will last for a really long time and ur power will be very efficiently used. You can maybe find a cheaer one, but in talking quantum boards

    Are you going to train her
    If you concentrate on LST
    A few weeks training her to grow in a symmetrical manner
    Then I top the very top bud point
    Avoiding hurting the new growth, growing out, right above the fan, let the new growths grow out a little then pinch that main top only
    After doing the LST, like I said for 3-4 weeks.
    Sounds long, I usually veg long. And you top it then,you can avoid dealing with most of your training, you would have to do if you top earlier
    Top at that stage, she’ll explode, and you should have 16-18 main colas
    Maybe 7-8” from bucket rim
    Then you flip,
    she will stay short
    Even 200% stretch 32”[​IMG]

    Sounds good, I was just gonna top and do some main lining I thinks that’s the term? I’m use to just defoliating and heavy nutes for outdoor grow.

    IMO main line is too extreme
    Even if you have say 35 sites
    Recovery is way too looong
    To get there
    IMO
