Up to you, but they won't start to flower until they're ready anyway. So all You're doing is depriving them of light. But yeah, it's a neat project just to see what you get.
I have thought about setting up a perpetual grow like this... One grow space, take a cutting at 3 weeks (photo sensitive plant tend too not flower until week 4 or 5). This will do 2 things: establish to main colas for the first plant, and give you a clone that can then use to repeat the process... But alas I am trying autos this time around so it will have to wait...
