Hey guys, long time grower, never did 12/12 from seed. This year my guerilla patch got flooded by a sudden severe rain, and I only have one plant in mid-flower in my backyard that may yield 1/4lb if I'm lucky. I can forsee running out of smoke this winter, and I'm may to be moving by Christmas as well. I have hundreds of various crossed sativa seeds. I live at 30 north so I can have them outdoors with awesome sun for at least 8 weeks. After that I can move them in under a 400MH and a 175 MH to finish if need be. I'm thinking of starting them up in solo cups and doing the grow all the way through in them. So, the question I have from you guys who've done a 12/12 micro grow is, what do you think would be a conservative estimate per plant in such a small container? Maybe 3 grams? Of do you think it would turn out better with less plants and a bit larger of containers?
Check out the threads titled official party cup grows, I've seen plants in solo cups that look like they produce 10+ grams of finished product. If I were you though I would use slightly bigger containers to increase the root mass so it can support a plant that will produce in the range of an ounce or so. If you start them outside they will be very lanky spindly looking plants though, you might want to consider doing the whole grow inside, and they might not be ready for your christmas move if your starting from seed. If you go 12/12 from seed it might work out. Just some thoughts good luck.
I've never started any from seeds this late outdoors, but the climate and sunshine here will support the plants. Being they are full sativa, they will remain in veg even at 12/12 for a while. I was thinking doing them outside till the last week of Sept, or Early Oct, then moving them in to 12/12 under a 400 watt lamp. It's almost 12/12 right now. At my latitude 30N, the days are about 12hours, 30 minutes right now. If I could pull 90 grams of sativa from 30 0r 40 cups I'm happy. Thanks for the link, I will check it out.
