And I ain't lying. My fan, which was annoyingly loud, broke. Thankfully. I leave a few flaps half open and make sure all the vents are leading outward and open, so air could passively get inside my 63x30x30 grow tent. I'm using a 600watt MH right now dimmed to 450watts, made by Apollo horticulture (the purple ballast). Anyways, look at how the babies are looking... this is the first time I've got this far without my seedlings falling over from their own weight since I need to find a real physical store to buy a small personal desktop fan to strengthen these broads necks.

Suggestions? What would you do? I'm thinking that either the bag seed I used was either genetically superior, or that cafe bustelo pot is the pineapple chunk. It's growing taller, though that may be because the can is taller. But it's also widening more than growing taller, as are all my plants. Is that natural at this stage in the game, and are these still technically seedlings or are they vegging now? I know, I know, a lot of questions. But I'm really excited. I think it's time to plant these jiffy pots somewhere, there nowhere near the size of the regular pot and cafe bustelo pot. I guess root growth is that fundamental this early, wasn't expecting them to take off like this.

Would you use a co2 bag? My temps never get higher then 90F, and never lower then 60F. In fact, with a window fan turned on medium blowing towards the tent on the other end of my room with the flap half-open, my humidity (I have a humidifier) is 36% and its 79F as of this post running at 450watts.

I'm really excited so people post something.... ANYTHING!! Thanks you all

  3. fan can help simulate nature's wind and strengthen the stem

  4. Yeah if its a small personal oscillating fan... not a 240 cfm lol

  5. bump in the night

  6. Do you like your Apollo ballast? I'm planning on getting a new light in the next few days and just saw one online and it seemed pretty good.

  7. 47 days in, so far, so good. I just switched to flowering last night, and the ballast has held up fine. When I bought this, the HPS bulb came cracked. They replaced it without asking any questions (bought it from Amazon).

    Are you an experienced grower?

  8. I have done one small grow with CFCs and I'm going to try out hydro this time

  9. What was your yield/grow area? Did you leave a journal?

  10. you will need ventilation when they get big. 11 days is not enough time to think its whpped. your gonna run into trouble if you dont ventilate, mold, bud rot.
    etc... good luck buddy.

  11. My last grow was cfl, i got 7 ounces from one blue cheese plant so i mastered the cfls, now i am learning the hid lighting.
its a whole diff ball game, but i like it much much better, iother than the temp problems.

  12. the past seedlings prob fel over cause they where stretching for light, when they get long stems like that, which wont happen with your hps, but in cfl it happens and i just replant up to the bottom leaves, stem becomes roots in time.

  13. Your right about that - you live and you learn. Right now, I'm on day 3 of flowering after having vegged for 6 weeks. My main reason for flowering was because my plants just weren't growing bigger. I think this is because they were in small pots, but I repotted them into at least 3 gallon containers for flowering.

As for bud rot... so far so good. Nothing has rotted yet, and I haven't had an exhaust fan since the 2nd or 3rd week of growing. I do have a dual window fan blowing fresh air at it's highest setting into my tent, and have all the ducts open so air can passively leave, as is forcibly blown in. Not the best set up, but it strengthens the stems and does provide fresh air for my babes.
