1000 watt hps lamp and ballast i used 250watt and it blew out ?????

    today i used a 250 watt hps bulb in my 1000watt hps lamp with ballast i went outside came came back and the bulb blew out!!! my question is can i use a 250watt bulb in my lamp thats a 1000 watt sun reflector lamp with ballast ? keep in mind im use'n my closet to grow in ? so 1000watt is to hot here are sum pics of my problem !!

    I think by the 250 watt bulb blowing up answers your question NO! Be careful dude your lucky u didnt start a fire and hurt some one. Im no HID builb expert put im pretty sure a 250 watt bulb is NOT made for a 1000 watt ballast call it a hunch:rolleyes:

    its a hps 250 watt bulb maximum of 1000watt lamp and ballast

    Lamp and ballast must have the same power rating (in watts). Or you will have BIG problems. I have read that you could connect 4 X 250 W lamps in parallel (or is it in series?) with a 1000 W ballast - but have no experience of trying this.
