Go for it dude. My friend and I split an $85 no-name from a local headshop and it's really really good so far. All depends on the rep of the store too.
IMO, a brand name piece just means that... A. It looks cooler (maybe). B. More expensive. C. Whatever little thing the brand does to differentiate itself from everything else. My buddy bought a sweet bong for $60, and it is the sweetest thing ever. Guess what? Super high quality, no brand, and it's probably 1 1/2 feet tall build with thick glass and ice traps.
Not trying to be rude. I used to think the same thing as did a lot of people. There really is a lot of difference between the two. Thats like saying some 50 dollar golf club and some 400 dollar golf club or something are the same. They may have the same shape and the more expensive one may look cooler or better somehow, but it is much better. The craftsmanship that goes into high end glass is much, much better than what your friend probably has. Although im sure for 60 he got a sweet piece. Me and my buddies used to have a 60 dollar tube too and i loved it. But once you try high end youll see the difference.
Why spend 100 bucks for a no-name when you can spend 100 bucks on an EHLE or a HVY, both made with German glass.
i will never get all the people that buy roors...I guess they love paying extra 100 for a the logo fuck brand name a good bong is a good bong. I will never buy a brand name bong unless it cheap cuz all you pay for is the stupid Logo or the name. its like getting a 20 dollar pair of jeans or getting a 80 dollar pair but they are the same.
to you they might be, but to someone who has experiance with both can tell you there is a difference. the saying you get what you pay for applies in most circumstances, and this is one of those circumstances.
When you buy logo you do buy quality, although local blown glass can also the bomb. There is quite a lot that goes into glass making and cutting costs normally means cutting corners. Its like that for pretty much everything. To answer the question I would either ask store and see what they say its like/from. but with most ppl's first buys they are better than what they were using before.
