100% perlite hempy really works

Hey all I've been a long time lurker and have commented occasionally. I figured it's time for me to contribute with a bit of my success! I started growing on a whim almost 2 years ago since it's legal here (go Colorado!!) and have tried a number of methods in that time. I grow perpetually and have been slowly perfecting that schedule to harvest a few plants each month.

I spent/wasted about 6 months trying to get some yield from mainlining my girls and just couldn't get it to work. I went back to strictly lst'ing but still didn't feel my yield was what it should be. I spent most of this time using ffof mixed with perlite until I read about perlite only hempy buckets. So I decided to try it with one of my Blue Cheese clones and 7 weeks later here are the results! I couldn't be happier with the growth of this girl and have now completely switched everything over to perlite hempys!




She is being flipped a week or two from now when I clear out some room in the flower tent. I transplanted her from a 2 gallon to a 5 gallon on Monday and I'm already seeing a bump in growth! Hopefully this route will produce better than what I've seen in the past from soil/perlite mix.




Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions? I'll update periodically once I flip her if anyone is interested.

 

The roots on this thing when I transplanted her were unlike anything I had ever seen! They were growing out of the top of the 2 gallon bucket which is why I transplanted her.

 

Nice! Hydroton might be on my list of things to try down the road.


She's been getting fox farms grow big and calmag with every feeding, varying amounts per gallon. I've fed her once a day as she has needed it! I'm thinking I can push that back to every other day or so with the 5 gallon pot now.


I have some clones in tiny quart containers right now to get them going and am feeding them 2-3x a day until the roots hit the res. I bought some 3 gallon trash cans that are about as tall as the 5 gallon bucket and the roots took FOREVER to hit the res. I figure with this method it's better to start small and move up as you go.

 

She is actually doing better than I ever expected! My flower tent is a 4x4 and I've chopped a few plants a bit early just to make room for her! I think a 3rd month of veg and a scrog would have filled out this tent!

I've let her grow straight up without any training aside from some pinching/knuckling early on which you can see in the pics!

Here's the Blue Cheese beast! By far the biggest plant I have grown yet!

 

And here's a blue widow clone and a blue cheese clone in the solo cups. I'm starting them in clear solo cups to watch the roots grow then I'll put them in something bigger when they are ready.

Nice! I'm hoping going from silo cup to 2/3 gallon will help these girls grow faster since they'll have more established roots. I have a Purple Afghan Kush and White Widow that I put right into 3 gallon trash cans and they took forever to get going. Now they are on a roll and getting bigger everyday finally!
