100% Coco Coir - PH experiment

  1. I've concluded the following from my own experimentation

    I am using
    ########
    GH Cocotek Grow
    Pro Silicate

    2 seedlings have been receiving nutes at 600 ppm @ 5.8

    1 has been getting 600 ppm @ 6.5

    S'lings @ 5.8
    * growing slowly
    * burning easily
    * weak stems
    * stretching
    * no visible roots coming out of pots
    * pale green unhealthy leaves

    S'ling @ 6.5
    * vigorous growth
    * huge leaves
    * short node spacing
    * insane amount of roots shooting from under pot
    * massive roots
    * solid green healthy leaves

    I ask myself now...

    Follow the genius of GC or listen to the plant that has thousands of years of experience and information inside of it

    Has anyone else come to a similar conclusion?

  2. Very interesting. Thanks for the info. I did find that 5.8 was too low and tried to be in the 6.0-6.2 range but I never did a side by side. Good work. :)

  3. Side by side the results are pretty convicting

  4. Agreed. If I ever do coco again I'll keep this in mind.

  5. nice bro can u chuck up some pics?

  6. Kinda makes you think. I water at 5.5-6.0 depending if my res ph has risen while I’m away. Hand watering in veg, is pretty consistent at 5.8. All my runoff water, on current grow, tests out at 6.1-6.3. So is my coco about 6.5ish as a result. Growth is steady and few deficiencies except the mag whore GG4xWW’s. I’d be interested to see pics for comparison too please

  7. Ive never fed coco under ph 6. And I've never used cal/mag.

  8. If your gonna do Comparisons you really need to use clones. Can easily get 3 seeds and have 3 completely different phenos.
    Also 600 ppm is way too hot for seedlings. You'll get better growth again if you drop the ppm.
