Update About Advertising on Grasscity Important: A New Chapter for Grasscity

10" Pot size..

    I went to Wal-Mart today looking for pots for my grow. I only got 4, cause im buying feminised seeds (pack of 5). I got some that are 10" across the top and was wondering if i can use these throughout the whole grow? The bigger up size they have look like giant buckets and that would really, really stretch my grow room..

    plants don't like it when the roots have to stretch in pots that are to big!

    soma's grow book has plans for a grow bed that's like 4x4 (you can obviously expand or contract as you would need) and it's a really great design.

    but it's basicalls a box with pvc pipes on all four corners.

    then the bottom of the box has some rocks and some breathable materials down there then and the soil on top of all that.

    the pvc goes down all the way to the bottom almost, like a half an inch off of it. this way the roots can suck air in through the pvc and you have all of your plants in one control.

    Word man. Im looking for something that wont take up alot of space. I saw a design on this site about PVC tubes and the plants sit above them in PVC buckets that looked like a hydroponics type thingy. Is that what your talking about? Link?

    Nonsense!!! The bigger the pot the bigger the roots. The bigger the roots the bigger the shoots.

    I acutally just found the reading emagdnim13 was talking about with the grow bed and im thinking about doing such that because my closet im using is a strange dimension (4.79' long x 1.87' wide x 5' tall). It mentions some things that i dont know what are or where i can look for them.

    Hydrocorals
    Felt Root Cloth
    Organic soil (something i can get from a store?)

    So far for my grow i have:

    Potting soil w/ Perilite
    (1) 400wHPS Light
    (2) 120mm Exhaust fans
