10 ON, 14 OFF for flowering

Discussion in 'Lighting' started by SkunkyBrains, Aug 21, 2012.

  1. Does anyone use the 10hrs of light and 14hrs of darkness method during the last few weeks of budding, and at what point can I do this?

  2. Skunky: I do. Originally, I grew with Aerogardens and I had a problem getting some plants to flower so I dropped the light from 12/12 to 10/14 and it did the trick. Now I do it regularly but I use a progressive light schedule I was taught at school and it works great. I hope that helps. Hank

  3. Thanks Hank! Yesterday started week 5 of flowering, does it matter when I change the light schedule? Dont you use fluorescent lighting? Ive been thinking about dropping the cash for some good T5s. Right now Im using a 1kw hps, and its hot as hell. Ive got some burned tips in the middle of my canpoy cuz my plants to big and the lights as high as it will go.

  4. Skunky: if you're flowering already I'd drop an hour next week and another hour the following week. Hank
