1 Week Fast

  1. Last night, I smoked my last cigarette. Today, I am starting a 1 week fast to rid my body of all the junk I've been eating. The only thing I will consume during this week will be water; lots and lots of water. And probably the occasional microcosm of toothpaste/mouthwash. Then, I will begin anew with a healthy diet. It's time I got my shit together again.

    I may or may not post updates here.

    Oh man, I can smell the Chinese food.. this is gonna be tough.

  3. why don't you just start with a healthy diet. I'm pretty sure there is are no medical benefits to fasting compared to eating healthily. Good on you for the lifestyle change though. Do some exercise as well. Go for a bike ride and then blaze in some cool natural place like the woods or mountains....bring an mp3 player to make it extra awesome
     
  4. Good luck. Longest I've done has been three days, but then again I haven't been doing this long.
     
  5. Dude goodluck! Keep at it the first three days cause its going to be killing you lol you're gonna have cravings out the ass but just get the fuck through it man. Trust me, it'll be hard for those first 3-4 days but once you survive it the sense of accomplishment is amazing. If you need any support just come post here and we'll pump you up haha

    An to the blades above, water fasting is the ULTIMATE form of healing. Nothing will heal you faster than fasting. Healthy diets are more practical or even a juice fast, but nothing beats water fasting.

    OP you'll have tremendous benefits, trust me. If you want any advice on how to properly break the fast and what to eat afterwards to continue your detox and flush out your digestive system of metabolic waste and mucus let me know I'll take you through the process so you can be kicking ass after only like a month. You'll feel and look like a champ
     
  6. Fasting for 3 weeks has been shown to cure both hypertension and Crohn's disease 100% of the time.

    I did it for 3 weeks when i was 19. I always felt sick and just bad in general.:( (Was because i was weight lifting pretty hard and eating too much dairy/protein powders)

    I had a lot of money at this point (online poker took care of my college tuition for 4 years before i even started :D FUCK YOU Full Tilt :devious:) and took a 3 month trip to Panama. I fasted for 3 weeks and then just fucked around and explored the jungles, went to beaches and surfed, all while only eating fruits and salads.

    Was pretty awesome, i met a lot of cool people. Panama is straight up beautiful too, so many awesome views on tops of mountains and shit.

    And to OP: GOOD luck bro. The first 3 days are the worst, but after those 3 days you'll be fine and not even hungry anymore. Drink lots of water and after the 7 days buy some watermelon and eat that the first day to get back into it.

    Yes, as much advice as you can give! This is more about feeling like a champ.. I honestly haven't thought about how I will look. I just want to cleanse my body of all the shit I've been ingesting.

    Sounds awesome man! Have you experienced any longterm health benefits? Have you kept eating healthy? How often do you have cravings, and how strong are they? What were the 2nd and 3rd weeks like compared to the first? I doubt it, but do you think it's manageable to extend 1 week to 3 while working full time? :eek:

  10. I agree with the blade above. Just be strong as fuck for these first 3 days...you've been eating every single day of your life so your whole entire body and all of your neurology is going to be telling you to eat LOL tough it out though cause it feels great when you're done.

    Also, I agree when he said break the fast with just watermelon for the first day. Simple sugars to get you going again and high water content that will leave behind little waste and digest easily.
     
  11. is it ok to do a fast while spending a lot of time walking around in the sun?
    i'm in south africa at a vervet monkey sanctuary, and even though i've been fed a very good diet here, i'd like to do a fast before i go home. i go home in two weeks, and a fast beforehand sounds like something i'd be down for.
    the only problem is that the work here involved a lot of walking around in this dry heat. i'm basically on my feet from 7-10am, and then again from 1030am-12pm and then again from 2-430.
    i'd hate to pass out or something while on the job lol
     

  12. Wrong, there are numerous health benefits to fasting, it's helped many people lose stubborn fat and even gain muscle. I certainly wouldnt recommend a 7 day fast, I would probably only fast up to 36 hours.

    I would wait until I got back if I were in your position. Dehydration sounds all too plausable.

    It's mainly for purification reasons.
     

  15. Don't do it until you get back. You need to REST while water fasting. A small amount of walking should be the most you do while water fasting. Any kind of exercise can be dangerous. I say wait.


    7 days is actually fairly short. Experienced faster that are under doctor supervision can fast for up to 40 days.

  18. it isn't 8 glasses a day, it's 8 cups. as in the measurement cup (250ml), not like a cup in your cupboard. they don't say 8 glasses because a glass is entirely subjective. it surprises me how common this misunderstanding is lol
     
  19. Triple post but i dont care, this is like 3 hours later.
    Im going to do a 48 hour water fast, eat lightly but well for a day or two, then do another 48 hour water fast amd maybe continue that trend for 10 days.
    Does that sound ok and beneficial?
     
  20. Only if you just eat high water content foods like fruit and veggies or just drink green juices. Don't Cook any of your food cause that dehydrates it. No animal products or grains/nuts/seeds either.
