1 sq ft Microgrow

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by TheUltimateNoob, Jun 14, 2019.

  1. Hey everyone, I'm taking someones advice and putting this up in the journal section where it belongs, lol.

I just finished this build using an old server box with a ufo led light and some place for more bulbs.

The box is 32 x 47 x 59 cm... Effectively 1 sq ft of grow space inside.

Dropped a few seeds in peat pellets a few minutes ago... Fingers crossed.

Anyone's welcome to tag along for the ride.

    Peace

  2. Nice. You should put a flat led panel of some sort in there so you can pick up some head room.

I enclosed a 1ft x 1ft shelving unit (tall bathroom/kitchen stand) to act as an extended veg cab for hesitant contestants in my little green parade. Currently running with a 150w COB (flush mounted at ceiling). This box gives me more vertical space than I really need as they tend to spread to wide too the cab before they hit the light.

  5. Well, the more of the canopy that fills out the space, the better... I'm aiming to fill out my 2 x 2 ft cab

  6. What distance do you think I should keep my plants at from this light bro?

So it's been 11 days and honestly I neglected these seedlings for too long... 2 of them sprouted and I killed one during transplant, which I did just a few hours ago. They popped a few days ago, about 3 or 4. I just planted the pellet deeper to cover most of the stem.

So here goes, 1 plant, let's hope its a girl.

Made a small DIY humidity dome from the bottom of a bottle. I know the setup isn't perfect and I'm not worried about monitoring humidity in this box that much because it isn't completely sealed.

The bulb is a 50w lef grow light, I have 2 but I'm just using 1 for now... I figured since it was just 1sqft, the light would be fine... In comparison though, the ufo led draws about 54w and is way brighter than these bulbs. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

  9. Lol thanks bro... It works pretty well, I checked on it and it already misted up on the inside... This happened within about 3 hours

One question though, from your username... Could I send you the specs of my light from the manual, and could you tell me if its any good?

I have asked people before, but an experts opinion should be worth a lot

  11. It is a tiny grow. But very meaningful for the first try.

  12. I have another 2 x 2 box that's my main focus (still flowering my first grow).

Just trying to grow some in a small space, I'd like to see if I can do it.

    Here's both my boxes. [IMG]

  13. Looks like the humidity dome is doing its job well and the seedling recovered from transplant shock.

Gonna give it about a week and a half before I give the plant its first watering. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  14. Some unfortunate news, the stem of the seedling somehow snapped and the plant is no more... So sad

  15. Here's a link to my second attempt at the microgrow for anyone that wants to pull a seat for the ride and missed the journal when I posted it...

  16. Oh no! Try again, just make sure you don't snap the stem next time

  17. I completed the microgrow after this with another strain. Have a look at it under my grow journals, turned out pretty nice.
