1 cup cali fire canola oil

    So I got some fire weed, for my standards that is. in an illegal state. I gotta start being s.o.s (special occasion smoker.) I'm trying to make 1 cup of canola oil infused with what I would guess was about 3/4 oz(no scale.) I toasted it up nicely in my little toaster oven. I got it in a miniature slow cooker as I type this. Just wondering how many hours I should let it cook at 200 degrees fahrenheit? I was thinking at least 6 but might do as many as 12

    Magical Butter Machine recommends 1 hour @ 160 F to make oil from decarbed herb.
    BrassNwood's popular method here recommends 220 F for a total of 40 min.
    My own experience is that using longer times than these, at these temperatures, reduces potency.
    1 hr @ 200 F is plenty.

    It can vary when you infuse it... I go for 4 hours on medium in a slow cooker with boiling water & I get the same results every time :smoke: I also use a half Oz or just over with 3/4 tbsp of coconut oil

    Edit: I go for that long because they help me sleep/help with my chronic pain.. I've tried all different times & 3/4 hours gives me the relief I need:smoke:

    Decarboxylate first.
    Herb baking in the oven.
    240 F for 40 minutes uncovered. Pea sized nugs

    Coconut oil is the Carrier of Choice as it hits in half the time every other oil takes.

    5 grams decarbed Cannabis. Kief or Hash or powdered buds
    1 tablespoon Coconut oil
    1//2 teaspoon Lecithin
    Combine
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes
    Freeze (Optional)
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes (optional)
    Done.

    Buds 1 drop = 1mg
    Kief or Hash 1 drop = 3mg

    Oil turned out pretty dark green after 6 hours in the slow cooker. I will be making a tray of betty crocker chocolate chip brownie bars
