I wonder how other people handle the situation. I'm a private person by nature and I do not sell weed. I only smoke it. do you tell all of your friends about your grow? do they help you out with it? How do you trust them with the information?
A rule of thumb is the less people you tell, the better. As for me, a few close people know, I am positive they will not fuck me over. I am the only one taking care of my plants and might have my brother help me harvest but that would be it. Even though I don't really have to worry about people ripping my plants, they are still locked in a greenhouse, locked in another fenced in area, inside my yard...which is fenced in. On top of this, I have dogs and cameras. If you do grow, just keep it to yourself as safety is a big issue.
TELL NO ONE. nope. you dont. The Grow section can be EXTREMELY helpful, so have you tried getting advice there?
i have a couple trusted friends that know i grow.. known them for over 30 years and one of them grows himself. otherwise i share it with my GC friends..
I am medical legal. While I don't have to worry about police I still have to worry about rippers so very very few people know.

I've told only one person. My woman. I've had her learn the ins and outs of growing and taking care of the plants, recording data, harvesting etc., just incase she should ever decide to back stab me. Only one other person accidently saw my grow box. Lots of Liquor & a 3 way allowed that slippage to happen. Never again!
I share it with GC and there is maybe one or two other growers that know I grow but we've are all careful and we have no idea were we do it. I haven't met up with them in a long time though used to swap clones. But yeah pretty much don't tell anyone. Not worth the risks.

No one if you're smart. Not a single damn person. Not unless you're growing on a scale that you have to employ people to help with the harvest.
I wouldn't tell a goddamn soul. But I'm a Chatty-fucking-Cathy with an ocean of friends. And that's why I don't grow weed.
Don't tell anyone, except GC hehe. When I grew a couple plants, I told some of my good friends about it and told them not to tell anyone. Then one day one of them stopped by my house with a couple of his gangster-thug friends and they started asking me about my grow. Very nerve-racking. Luckily we were out front so I bullshitted with them until they left. Having thugs that you don't know that know about your grow and location is not good haha. I started the grow for my 2 best friends and I, but they didn't help all too much. I was afraid they'd fuck something up haha, but they did help me obtain the supplies and everything. As for trust, it depends. I told people I thought I could trust, but it turns out I was wrong. My 2 best friends didn't tell anyone though, they knew better. So id say don't be subjective with who you tell, keep it to yourself. My 2 best friends and I conceived the idea and did research, so we were in it together which is why I knew I could trust them.
I told my wife, of course, because of the shared liability. She then drunkenly let it slip to her cousin, who told the other cousins, who told their parents, who told my in-laws (they're chill though) so there's no telling how many people really knew. I shut it down when I realized how many people were aware of it. I loved growing and miss it a lot, but I can't see starting back up until the law changes. Tell no one.
My girl, considering we live together. And my grandma, she's a medical patient, and has one of the best greenthumbs I've ever seen. Nobody else.
