After spending another day not being maimed or killed at work thanks to the workplace regulations imposed by the Department of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health administration, enjoying another two meals which again do not kill me because of the USDA, I drive my NHTSA car back home on the DOT roads, to my house which has not burned down in my absence because of the state and local building codes and Fire Marshal's inspection, and which has not been plundered of all its valuables thanks to the local police department. And then I log on to the internet -- which was developed by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Administration -- and post on Freerepublic.com and Fox News forums about how SOCIALISM in medicine is BAD because the government can't do anything right." It's pretty absurd how every self proclaimed conservative is suddenly ranting about the evils of government even though every minor detail of their life is impacted by it. Literally every day we rely on publicly funded institutions. Could some anti-reformist please explain why they think that their government can't/shouldn't reform health care? It boggles my mind how these people think...
You should learn about economics, and why operating at a loss is a bad thing. Just because a service exists and people are happy with it does not mean that it is the best means of delivering the service. Do you ever pay attention to the national debt? The US is facing total insolvency because of your ignorant attitude. Some of those public services you listed are fine with conservatives, as they are handled at a local state level (like water and roads). But all of the centralized, behemoth Federal programs you mentioned (FDA, FCC, DOA, DOT, EPA, FEDERAL RESERVE??!, USPS) suck balls. You would know this if you learned from books and not chain letters. Fiscal conservatives tend to think long term, while fiscal liberals think about short term political goals, like getting elected on a message of "free" stuff. Granted, you probably can't distinguish between the two.

The government can't reform health care because they're in bed with insurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies. Both insurance and pharma companies want this bill to pass because they're going to make hundreds of billions of dollars off of it.
