Shouldbelegals Vero 29 LED shed adventures 3.0

  1. Hey guys, short first post. On my mobile but wanted to show you guys my new light in a half finished grow box. Ran out if tine yesterday.

Here she is. In a few hours I'll take some pics of the light and when its got plants under her.

My only complaint my phone pics up the hertz even though I cant see it flicker. This happened with my hps but that I could see flicker.

Most likely try putting some 1500uf caps on the output side of the LEDs see if that helps....

Right now I have three vero 29 4000k spaced roughly 175mm apart. These are running at 35w each ATM or 36v 1amp. the drivers are capable to run these LEDs at 75~ watts or 2.05amp at 36.7v I think it was.

So yes running them light on. Gonna break them in and the little plants going in there wouldn't know what hit them haha. The intensity of the light at full tilt is almost as bright as my 600hps was... Can't wait to lumen check my cab soon :)

  2. More pics as Said.

All plants are Pineapple Chunk clones from the mother who recently flowered in my Sig link thread.
They have been mistreated and I have paid almost no attention to them in the last fortnight. They were suffering, Not drinking under the 56W of CFL that they were under.

Hopefully under these lights, I had them dimmed to 35W ea last night overnight to a total of 120W at the wall, After the whole night the grow cab was a 22c in a shed that was 15c, so perfect, bumped the lights up a notch to 50w ea. 170W at the wall, gonna leave em on all day.

As for the plants, watered with plain H20, gonna see how they respond first.

    Keeping you posted kids

lights were on low when photos were taken.

The lights can be adjusted broadly from 120W to 250W from the wall roughly, Or 35-72~ watts at each Vero 29. The dimming is done at 5% intervals.

Apart from flicker, the light is performing better than expected. I expect a good yield from this DIY I feel ;)

Camera inside grow box so I dont have to leave the house. lol.

  5. As you can tell they aren't really doing much. Thrips and mites and shit been getting at them. Finally came in with the naturasoap and watched the little shits stop in action. So yeah. Fighting back. And put up a bunch of those sticky fly sticker hanger things lol so hopefully they do something too.

Noones even been replying so CBF editing this one bit lol

  6. They also had a light feed to

  7. Looking good man! Hopefully the mites die off quickly.
Keen to see how the new LED goes!

Did I see in another thread you were thinking of going scrog grow on this one?

  8. Indeed you are correct devhay12 [IMG]

just waiting on full recovery, which appears might be today. Also going to start some new strains in solo's since those 2 solo's have done NOTHING. they have roots, but just have gone into hibernation. as you will see lol.

  9. The two larger ladies have new growth and the leaves feel normal again, or on good recovery, where as they were all dry before no matter what I did, was def Cal/Mag def and then PH Lockout on top :/

Newb mistakes, and then stick thrips and mites on top and you got yourself a winning combo

  10. Mites / thrips are gone. took 4 days of natursoaping twice a day, but they are gone, and its semi residual for a little bit, so that will help.

one solo has nice new growth under the dying leaves, so gonna see if she recovers, the other got planted in the ground outside even though its mostly dead. roots were healthy but not many of them, im sure i could have nursed her back too, but why would you... lol

as for the two bigger PC's they are both showing big signs of growth over night since nutes were added and bugs removed ;)

so tonight ill start a new strain, I reckon its time for some northern lights ;) was gonna go white widow again, but had that before. or we could go with some more exotic strains, but eh, I feel NL is the go, never grown her before ;)

So at some point new pics ;)

  11. What kind of drivers do you use and where did you source the drivers and the cobs?

  12. Cobs and Drivers from Digikey,

Set me back a total of 380 for 4 lights,

Here is the datasheet to the drivers I bought LINKY
    and I got the 4000k 10000 Lumen 80CRI Vero 29's.

As for the seed choice, NL is sitting in the shot glass you see in the pic below [IMG]

Thats a rasberry plant on the left BTW,

it needed time away from pests, and has BOOMED since it went in the cab, has 3 new shoots coming up from the root system! like wtf, they werent there before!!! lol

the plants are more green then the light looks, blame the 2010 camera phone [IMG]

Also, since ive been asked. questions about LED's since, If anyone noticed, my LED's are quite far apart, This is so I still maintain a healthy spread of light through my cab. It was pretty much tailored to this cab and what materials I had around.

Yes theres lots to do like covering the walls, uprating my exhaust fan so I can turn the veros up, and mounting fans properly on the light and tidying the wiring. But hey, I got weeks of vegging left ;) so meh!

  14. Opening the picture from the 27th vs the 31st... Can defo see height increase and width increase in the 2 main plants, and that was with pretty bad thrips, I love keeping a journal sometimes ;)

  15. Subscribed. I'm pretty sure I'll come back with more questions
    Thanks!

  16. How many cobs per driver at maximum output?

  17. Nice setup man!! Looks good mate!!....did u join the comparative grow from the vault, I received my 5 free auto seeds an a t shirt in 7 days man all free shipping an tha, u should jump on it mate if u haven't free seeds is always good

  18. One, I preferred it that way, If something dies, the others keep working.

I think I tried? lol. Ill have to check.

  19. How do you calculate how many cobs a driver can run? Add the wattage of the cobs to be less than the driver's? Allow 10-20% for temp fluctuations?

  20. Well. This driver is rated at full power up to 35v as you turn the current down the voltage goes up that it can tolerate. However it's max is 52. This is not enough for multiple vero 29s sadly. But as said. It was that or one meanwell hlg 135 or whatever they are, but I wanted flexibility. This will allow me with the spare drivers I bought to be able to run each seperate so I can move lights around in different cabs if need be. :)
