I started with a Rubbermaid setup and ended up with my custom MDF cab, 4" vortex, and a 4 x 12 carbon scrubber
Plus holes cut through my closet ceiling to vent air out.
    1 female for sure
    went from 6 x 48w CFL to 1 125W grow CFL 2700 i got a 6500k as well...
Upgraded to a 250w CFL single bulb and will keep the 125w for back up
I will most likely end up with a Sunlight Supply Galaxy 150W Electronic Ballast and a 150w HPS with a cool tube... (Next Time)
if i can make room before i go DWC.. <--not happening now
I'm going to finish these out under the CFL unless i feel like spending more money...
I have to wonder if i will need a cool tube for a 150 hps with the scrubber since it seems to be moving a lot of air?
I can only have 3 flowering and 3 in veg so im going to try two in DWC 28qt tote in the near future.
it holds about 3.5 gals about 1 inch under the 3" net pots.

I was going to use the Tubs for DWC but i doubt i will be able to keep the temps low enough.

The tubs will be painted and taped to create DWC for the next round.
I started in a Rubber Maid with 6 X 42w CFL it really got warm even with the upgraded plexiglass window.

    Then upgraded to this cab
    [IMG]
    used the same 6 x 42w CFL 252w
These 42w are the 150w equivalent of incandescence bulbs
    [IMG]
Final Cab with 125 CFL i had 252w in the old cab hope this isn't a huge downgrade for now.

and the plants are now 5 weeks old and 1 week of 12 x 12.
I think this single 125w is less lumen than the 6 x 42w... oh well if it all works out ill end up with 150 HPS

the one showed sex right away and i figured i would flower them and then start on the next round with DWC scrog

I used Fox Farms Ocean soil and their Nutes Grow Big, Big Bloom, and will use Tiger Bloom.
Tap water that i let stand for 3 days in a open container.
PH? not sure waiting to get a meter.
I water when the soil is dry and that's about it.
I fimmed them i think... hehe it worked anyway and the one that showed sex first i tied down.
    4 weeks of 18/6
    1 week 12/12

  13. I'm going to start a project a couple weeks and your box would fit in the space.

I have about 23" of depth, 36 width, height no biggie.

I'm thinking about maybe going with a HPS 150watt because the startup cost is less.

Do you swap out bulbs for flowering or is it full spectrum?

Nice pics again mate keep it up. :hello:

  14. Yeah i change them out. the 250w CFL will be here tomorrow and if heat isnt an issue i will get at 6500k one for Veg next time.

Seeds should be here tomorrow as well... i have a while before i start the next batch.

if i had a spot for my tool box that i trusted i would use the entire closet... but this is fine for now. I figure if i can grow in this box then i should be able to grow in a closet or room when i'm ready.

  15. Sweet stuff, man! I've seen some one just tie up a split like yours and it mended itself!

BTW - I don't know why you are so psyched to get an HPS. Seems like you already have enough from your previous set up to really pump that box up with light. Why don't you loose the reflector of your current light (or flatten it and line the top of your box with it), mount that light as high as you can, plus add an additional 4 or more ceramic sockets for your other cfl bulbs. Then, using the same principal as the cool tube, seperate the lights from the grow area with a piece of glass leaving a large gap so air comes from your intakes past the plants, through the gap - drawing heat away from the grow area.

Excuse my ramble, I'm stoned! :smoking:

  16. its just a larger CFL i jumped from 125w CFL to a 250W CFL 2700k

well im going to try and see how the heat is. if it works out great if not ill stay with the 125

  17. thats a big ass cfl!

  18. So far so good 30 mins on and no temp change compared to the 125w.

My ventilation held up to the upgrade

    Average Temp 75f Low 71 High 82
