  1. Brothers and Sisters,
Some of you may recall the mighty saga of a young Ent, who grew illegally in a dorm-style minifridge for a few years before law enforcement snuffed him out.
For those who don't, I'm Dopey, I am now a medical patient, I have returned to growing,...

Low Energy, Low space, Low Budget Grow coming in just a few weeks. Stay tuned!

  2. Progress!

So today I gutted out an old T.V. Amoir.

    It's got a 4.11sq/ft foot print inside, a total of 13.35cu/ft volume, divided into a 5.48cu/ft clone/mother box and a 7.87 cu/ft Blooming box.

I have a 36in., 6 bulb, T5HO with fully adjustable suspension. With Ushio 3500K I should be able to pump out at least 18,000avg. lumens onto the 4.1sq/ft, it's not much but it will have to do for now, I'm on a budget.

The mother box will have two standard sockets installed outfitted with two bulbs tba.

Along the inside roof of the cabinet I will be suspending a custom carbon filter that I'm gonna bang up, 4"x36", approx 3#s. of activated carbon.

before all of this I'm gonna be sealing the whole cabinet with some premium sealer and line it all with some mylar.

    So,...

    Amoir, Repurposed
36" Reef Tank T5HO Fixture, Repurosed
Mylar, Hold over from last grow.
15$ for a can of sealer
25$ for a new piece of mdf to replace the current hardboard back.
40$ roughly for the home-brewed scrubber
and the fan and mother lights tba,... I can assume this is where the bulk of the budget will go to, an estimate of 180$,...

    260$ + 90$ on seeds.

    350$ grow operation. :hello:

Stay tuned, I should have the box finished in a week or so, will post the walk-through/tutorial once completed!

    Afternoon Ladies and Gents,

Spent the morning working, All that is left now is to build and install the carbon scrubber/blower and order bulbs!

This will likely wait until next week.

For your enjoyment, a step by step album.

Getting closer to the start of the grow, no visitors yet. This place used to be full of activity, where did everyone go?

[EDIT:] the plywood was 10 bucks, the spray adhesive 9 and the primer another 9 29$ and change after tax. Found this for air circulation, should do the trick, what do you guys think?

  4. What's up dopey:wave:, I'm subscribing to your thread the grasscity forums usually get more popular in the summer months when schools out.
Is there a reason your doing another fridge grow instead of buying a tent or using a small room?

    Happy Growin,

Well my brother from another mother,

This isn't gonna be another mini fridge.
I threw an album up of the armoire being gutted out.

I live in an in-law apartment at my parents house, I have two bedrooms. One is my Bedroom, the other has a 58 gallon reef tank a 10 gallon high light planted aquarium, three bearded dragons and a sulcata tortoise, if I put one more light in that room I will blow up the house.

Due to financial restraints a tent is nowhere in my near future, nor is the lighting equipment for a bigger space.

I caved and bought a carbon scrubber up the street at HTG(yes I'm lucky and have one up the block) now all I need to do is scrounge for 6 new T5HO bulbs(50$), a bulb for the mothers (20$) and a section of duct to go from the scrubber to the blower.

    so far, expenses: $240.00 USD:cool:

I think I may also blow out those draws depicted at the bottom, screw them together with the faux center brace and slap some hinges on it, it would open up another space about 8 cubic feet for a completely separate mother chamber.... I think I just might,...

    pardon the brain storming.

    pics to follow soonish

  6. Hey all,... my my, this was predicted to take 3-4 weeks to build, getting fired last Friday put it into double, triple time even!

    box is 90% complete!:hello:

Installed a GrowBright 4" fan with Tall Boy Scrubber, about 135$ after tax(HTG) .:( If anyone out there reading this is thinking about buying the same fan, DON'T!

It is extremely loud, but on a budget you get what you pay for. I built a basic dampening box out of an old rigid cardboard box, packing peanuts, and some old screen I had lying around.

I used an elastic to secure a screen around the exhaust port, cut two identically spaced holes in the box, put the fan in one hole, filled it with peanuts through the other, sealed the second hole with a piece of screen and packing tape, observe.

My seeds haven't come in yet, but I got an old bag seed from some "GDP", or so I was told, germmed it a few days ago and it has popped. It's the first to go into soil,... soil is Organic Vigoro for now.

As always thanks for dropping by, Blades and Ents alike!

Stay tuned for the next episode of

    PIGS IN SPACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. What can I say, progress is progress, and from what I've read. Soon you'll be growin quick like jack n the beanstalk :p(although it's kind of difficult for me to picture what you've put together so far, lol) I'm on a budget as well man, hope you have a good 420.:smoke:

  8. How were you caught? B

  9. Dopeman;

I've linked an imgur account to the thread, just look for the clicky parts :p

You can see how it looks there, I do say however, it looks almost pro,...almost,...

    Calin;
here I was typing this up anyway.
TL;DR: Two broke ass retirees try to back out of a rent to own contract in the last 6 months because they found someone willing to pay more. That leads to a long string of deception and douche-baggery and ends with me having charges dropped and record expunged.

Take that 240.00 and add another 60$ to it,I bought a fan regulator, some weather stripping and a veggy bulb.

    got that in,

here's the entire build from start to finish, w/ an Blue Grape Dream seedling. I knocked that seedling over and the pot smashed it's stem, I have it in a humidity dome maybe it'll take roots again,... probably a male after that,... :(

My good seeds made it through customs today and should be on their way within the next few days!

    Stay tuned!

  11. Damn man, that dresser looks like a portal to another dimension when it's opened.
Congrats on the fan regulator a good addition indeed.
Airflow will have to be abundant in that grow:)
    Keep up the good work.

Attitude Seed Bank came through again!

Seeds arrived today,... through indecision I popped all of them into wet towels, they're all feminized so its just a matter of what pops.

Last time around I had a 99% pop rate(one lone "Arjan's Strawberry Haze" did not pop that time), I look at it as worst case scenario,.. I have 13 mothers,... The law is still in a grey area with my medical card and I have until the end of May before any real rules on growing go into place, until then I have a license that literally permits as many as "needed" so right now I'm looking at it as I need up to 13:cool:

  13. Already:eek::p, you have been busy. I'd be happy to have my grow goin in 3-4 months.

I was hoping to have it going by now but haven't been able to get a job.
Gotta move out of this state thats for sure.

  14. Yeah, things came together quite nicely.

I had a lot of things lying around, all of which where lying around with a grow in mind.

I'm a bit of a pack rat (no not like hoarders) I have two sweater bins of electronic components and a small shelving unit with lighting equipment from my fish tanks and reptiles.

I look at these things as,..
    1)Too expensive
    2)Too ecologically harmful
    ...to throw away.

I'd rather hold onto them then ship them off to Mercury Island in the South Pacific. They prove useful,.. i.e. broken electronics can be fixed instead of replaced and grow cabinets can be thrown together quite effortlessly.

  15. Oh I hear ya, I'm the same way.
Got a whole wall of old reptile equipment as well. Only thing is I don't know how to fix (not good with electronics.) None of the stuff really is broken though, it's just sitting there because it is ahaaa.:p
That's cool you like reptiles and fish I've had many reptiles throughout my years as well. Also had a small 20G saltwater aquarium once back in like 8th grade. Snowflake moray eels are the shit man it tore up on some goldfish. So vicious

  16. I'll take some pics tomorrow and show you the tanks :)

    [Update]
    Hello!
-Just a few days ago I popped my new stock into wet paper towels.
-24 hours later they had cracked and were planted.
-48 hours after planting I present to you this.

My BlueBerry X White Widow cross is the only plant to not break the surface as of today. I will give it a few more days, then I might go poking around in the cup.

But, out of 13 strains, I have 12 sprouts, not too shabby. :smoke:

... the mystery of the 13th strain has been solved,...

at the base of my Blue OG sprout there was a tiny sprout and seed head,... somehow I must have accidentally dropped the much smaller Blue Widow seed in with the Blue OG seed when I was moving them into cups.

I'm nearly certain I have the strains in the right cups now as Blue OG's seed was about the size of my El Nino seed(those two were huge!) and the blue widow was more to scale with the tiny seeds.

so I have 13 strains in seedling form, pics to follow in a couple more days once leaf sets are developing.
Either way, they are pretty distinct from each other in flower, I'll be certain then.
