GDP - Blue Dream - Tangerine Dream

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by Bigolenugs19, Jan 8, 2019.

  1. This is my first grow after taking a few years off. I grew with 600/1000w HID lights in thr past but Im one to try to stay up to date and got 4 QB96 V2 engines with a HLG-600H-54A psu.

    Strains:
    Blimburn's Grand Daddy Purple feminized
    H.S.O.'s Blue Dream
    Barney's Farm's Tangerine Dream

I have a 4x4x7 tent and will be using advanced nutrients' full line besides their grandmaster level nutes. Sensi A and B. Seeds started in Fox Farms Seed Starter soil. Will finish in FFHF with 15% perlite added. Using distilled water with GH pH kit.

All 3 strains started on Dec 26th from seed in plugs and then put into Solo cups. Started under 3 100w equivalent LED 5700k lightbulbs from my local general merchandise store. Will be transplanting to 7 gal fabric pots.

  2. Transplanted the girls into their 7gal fabric pots. The GDP was very droopy. All 3 had their roots starting to coil at the bottom of the solo cups so Im gonna guess they were starting to feel rootbound. The tangerine dream is happy as can be and the blue dream was a little droopy but recovered quickly after transplant. GDP was still a little droopy after 12 hrs in her new pot, fingers crossed that she will be happier after a nights rest.

I forgot to mention that I will be doing SCROG on this grow. It will be my first time so any advice would be great.

  4. Im happy to report that all 3 plants are much happier today after getting into their 7gal pots yesterday. I think they just felt a little crowded in their cups ;)

  5. Day 16 from seed.

Just got done watering the girls.

GDP has a little twist to one of her leaves that wont go away.

Tangie has some side branching starting already! Is this normal?

Blue dream seems to be in a mini stretch adding space between her nodes and just growing her leaves outwards.

I feel like overall, my plants have all slowed way down since introducing the qb96s, the first day they got up to 81° for a few hours while I slept, I dimmed down the driver when I woke up and that solved things, 50% current makes a big difference!

I dont know if it was the heat, or the increased light or them being a little rootbound in their cups that stunted them ot what?

Pics are in order of tangerine dream (the close up), GDP and then blue dream.

If anyone has any opinions on how my girls are doing or what might I do to get them back on track, Id appreciate it! 20190110_083529.jpg 20190110_083348.jpg 20190110_083217.jpg 20190110_083158.jpg

  7. Day 24.
Another quick update. The girls all seemed to love their last watering. Gave each a gal of distilled with a little cal/mag and some voodoo juice. Grew 2-3 inches in height in 2 days each and side branching is going very nicely. 20190119_081608.jpg 20190119_081600.jpg

  8. Nice growth after transplant!

  9. Some pics from day 26 (yesterday). I defoliated the 2 bottom sets of leaves on the GDP because when I watered them they would end up resting on soil and the canopy is choking them of light anyways. Also defoliated the first true set of leaves of the blue dream for the same reason. Blue dream is a good 2-3 inches taller than the other 2. I fed then small doses of grow nutes on top of happy frog soil and it caused toxicities but they appear to have mostly diminished (Blue dream still has a little clawing going oj but its getting better now) after 3 straight feedings without sensi a or b. I have used voodoo juic3 throughout and i am continuing to use b52 to help strengthen the stems and roots. Put the net in today at about 12" above the plants' ground level. None of them are tall enough to start threading them into the net yet but I figure its nice to have it up so i can guage things a little easier. Anyways, 2-3 more weeks in veg til I flower. Hopefully sooner! Resized_20190122_221935.jpeg Resized_20190122_221705.jpeg

  10. Day 28 from seed. Decided to top the ladies today. Just thinking about this net I need fill and they just couldnt do it with natural growth I decided. So heres a few pics of the girls after the cutting. Its kinda crazy how all the branching is when you decide to top so late... hopefully I didnt waste too much time but I want max yields so this is my decision! Lets see how they respond! 20190124_094850.jpg 20190124_095207.jpg 20190124_095605.jpg 20190124_095611.jpg 20190124_095622.jpg

  12. if your going for a full scrog ,,, id top them 2 more times,

  13. Ive never topped so late before, when topping a second and third time I should be topping every top not just the highest node right?

  14. Day 35. The ladies are growing up. Topped them all a 3rd time now. Secondary branching is going pretty strong and Im not 100% but it looks like a few pistols might have popped, preflowers, but Im planning on probably 2 weeks more in veg. I stupidly used a double sided razor (I have exacto knives and everything!) for the first top and knicked a few leaves and even killed a top on my tangie, but I guess resources will go elsewhere and all will be ok. Anyways, hope they look good and healthy! 20190130_075104.jpg 1548853127061.jpg 1548853158404.jpg 1548853221821.jpg

  15. Day 37. Defoliation time. I chopped the bottom 2 nodes off of every branch to get rid of the undergrowth. Trying to force all their resources to the tops! Preflowers are showing on all the plants. Just one or two per plant, the blue dreams arent even showing hairs yet. The new tops are about 1-2 inches in length now as well. Im thinking 10-14 more days in veg before I switch to 12/12. Lets see how the girls respond to losing their skirts!
