Hey GC community! I am very excited to share another grow from Alberta! Grab a seat and enjoy the show. Feel free to comment, ask questions, or just say hi.

    Strain - Dark Devil Autoflower
    Medium - Pro-mix HP
    Pot size - 3 or 6 Gallon
    Nutes - Duel Fuel
    Cabinet - 2'x3'x4.5'
    Exhaust - PC fans
    Light - UFO-80
    Temperature - 21°C
    Humidity - 47%

I have been growing for quite some time, and I have always grown with HID or CFL indoors. Well it's now 2018 not 1980 so maybe it's time to get with the times and upgrade to LED.

There is a ton of options when it comes to LED lights. I decided to go with a UFO-80 by Unit Farm. The primary reason I went with this light is because of the cree and osram diodes. Looking at the specs it seemed like a great entry level light.

    UFO-80 Specs.

    Par Value: 1469.2umol

    Lumen:8184 Lm±5%@AC120V 8094 Lm±5%@AC240V

    Power draw: 175W ±5%@AC120V 170W ±5%@AC240V

    Input Voltage: AC85-265V

    Ampere: 1.458 A/120V 0.7324 A/240V

    Flower Coverage: 2.7ft*3ft

    Veg Coverage: 4.5ft*5ft

    Spectrum: 450~475nm 620~630nm, 650~660nm, and white

    Light Dimension: 340*300*80MM

    Package Dimension: 435*355*140MM

    Net Weight: 3.7KG

    Gross Weight: 4.88KG

    DB: 48dB

    Frequency: 50-60HZ

So I pulled the trigger and I got one. Dealing with Unit Farm was easy. Shipping was fast and the light arrived on UPS.

    The package arrived.

Opened it up. First impression, this smells new.

This light is very well packaged.

    The contents of the box.

    Handy diagram for assembly.

Being made in China I was worried about the screws. They went in fine, everything lined up.

    The assembled light.

I used my own hangers in the cabinet.

A couple more hooks to route to power wire.

    Let there be light.

My buddy wanted in on the action.

Everything was really easy as I had most of the gear already. Time for some seeds!

Presenting the star of the show, Dark Devil.

    The chosen ones.

    Got some jiffy pellets.

Soaked them, and squeezed out the excess water.

Dropped the seeds into their comfy home.

Put them under the light at a schedule of 20/4.

    Thanks for following along.

  7. No ill stick with soil. I don't need a disaster lol. I may however go with a 6 gallon container rather than a 3, I'm just worried about height.

  18. Is that one of those plastic garage shelves cut up for the tent framing? I am digging that, I may just steal that idea for my next cab!

  19. Thank you! Yup sure is! Brand new I think they are $50. I only cut the one shelf, the others are removed. I could still add 2 more shelves but the cab is perfect for a micro grow, veg box, or for a couple autos. The dual fans are Delta brand 120mm pc fans and they really really suck! (I have one disconnected because it pulled the doors in) I got a power cord from an old laptop, matched the output voltage, spliced and diced the wires, and just like that, an easy diy extraction system.

    The cab.

The fans suck so much the sides bend in.

  20. I do, thank you. I think the DD ladies will love it too. While they germinate I put my TD in the box to reap the benefits of the LED for a couple days but don't tell anyone ;-)
