One plant in my closet, in flower, CFL, bagseed (pics)

  1. This is technically the fourth plant I have grown. The first two I started together both died before I got to sex them. The third was looking beautiful but went male on me. This is the fourth. I started it a little while ago but decided to make a little grow journal with it. My setup is as follows, I'm growing in miracle grow potting soil. I vegged it for only 2 weeks under 2 23 watt daylight CFL's. After two weeks I gave it 24 hours of darkness then switched to 12/12 while switching one of the bulbs with a 42 watt warm CFL. I've been feeding it Miracle Grow Bloom Booster plant food every few waterings. I also kept a banana in the pot from seed until a week into flowering. The only troubles are that when I was away for 5 days for Thanksgiving, the plant grew into the lamps so some of the tips of the leaves at the top burnt. And I'm also worried about the size of the flower pot. It seems like it might be outgrowing it but I'm not doing any transplanting at this stage of the plants life. Other than that and some very minor nute burn just on a couple leaves, the plant is looking very healthy to me.

So let me know what you think of my little grow. More updates to come soon.

  2. umm...bump?

  3. I think those leaves are beautiful!

Im saving up some cash to start a grow of my own, blueberry and strawberry cough...cant wait to start.

  4. Well I was looking at the plant today and on two really low nodes down the stem I saw what looked like male balls, nice big obviously looking balls. I quickly picked them off and got really nervous the plant was turning hermie on me. But then a few more nodes up there were huge balls with two white hairs coming out of them which now I assume were the calyx. The thing is, they were huge with only two short hairs coming out of it. So could the ones I picked off been the female calyx that weren't yet bloomed?

  5. wow that plant looks good! youre a little ahead of me in the process. so why did you start flowering after only 14 days? mine was still a tiny little thing after 2 weeks, but im doing an 18/6 lighting cycle. im just curious how you got it to stay short but full with leaves. looking good though and im crossing my fingers for ya that its NOT a male!

  6. Well I took some more pictures today. The plant is still looking good, a little nute burn on some of the leaf tips but nothing I'm worried about. I'm sad to say because of my schedule, I'm going to have to harvest quite early. As of today, I'm 36 days into flowering and it looks like I'm going to harvest between one and two weeks from now. I bought some molasses to feed it for the remainder of the flowering and I'm stopping the nutes. So here's some pics, 36 days from flowering, 49 days from seed:

  7. looks good. did you consider transplanting it to a bigger pot at all? really coulda used it i bet.

  8. Yeah I probably should have. Nothing I can do now but next time I'll make sure the pot is plenty big enough.

  9. Good looking lil plant man ...

Keep up the good work ...

    Best Regards EazyGreen ......:D:D:D

  10. Some new pictures from today, the 39th day of 12/12 and 52nd day from seed. It looks like I'm harvesting 8 days from now and I'm kinda worried that almost all the hairs are still white. How long do the hairs normally take to turn orange?

  11. Why harvest in 8 days if the plant in not ready yet?

It really depends on the strain and the grow setup, but if you listen to the plant (or look closely), it will tell you when it's ready....

  12. Please Please Please don't harvest in 8 days. That plant looks great and still has at least 3 weeks left to flower. As you mentioned you have all white hairs, its not ready. You will get twice the bud if you wait and harvest a few weeks from now.

  13. See the problem is, is that I'm at my apartment at college and my parents want me home for winter break which starts in a week. I live abaout an hour drive away so I'm not risking driving home with a plant in my car so I'll try to delay coming home as long as possible but I'm going to have to harvest in the next couple of weeks.

  14. Did you top your plants? If so, at what height?

Also, what height did you start flowering and what is the height now?

I ask because my plant is almost identical, but I'm further behind in the flowering process and I did not top my plants at any point, and I'm wishing I did :(

  15. Didn't top the plant. I didn't take measurements but I think it was around 6 inches when I started flowering, it was 2 weeks of vegging. And now its a little over a foot high.

  16. lemme know what you yield man, I dunno if mine will get much bigger....either way, give yourself a pat on the back :)

  17. Ok, well I'm going home Sunday Dec 21 which is 9 days from today. I'm willing to drive home with the buds in a glass jar, but not the whole branches. So my question is, should I harvest a couple days before Sunday, let the buds dry on the branches and then cut them off and jar them right before I drive home, or should I wait as long as I can to harvest right before I drive home, cut the buds off the stems right away, jar them and then dry the individual buds when I get home an hour later? I really scheduled this grow terribly...

  18. do you have a friend that could care for it while you go home for christmas? seems such a shame to harvest early when your yield (and the quality) would be so much better if you wait.

  19. The quality is going to be really diminished if you harvest so soon. I cut a few buds off my plant and dried them before they were ripe and I didn't even feel very high after smoking some. How many days do you have to be away from the plant? Do you know anyone who could check on it? I really want to see her make it to the end.

  20. I'm gonna be home for quite a while, my break is almost 5 weeks long, I'm gonna have to harvest by next Sunday. Even so, Sunday the 21st will be 7 weeks of flowering so thats only like a week early, plus I like the high more upper than stoned so I was gonna harvest early anyways. But my question from before still stands, I have two options, 1) harvest as late as possible and dry the buds individually off the stems, or 2) harvest a few days before I go home and dry the buds on the stems? Does drying on the stems make a difference?
