earlier i went to my local redbox to rent ghost recon, and lo and behold some fucking piece of shit took out the game and replaced it with a blank cd-r. so i'm thinking, well fuck, can't go home empty handed, so i rent max payne 3, and out comes the same fucking shit. had to call redbox and get my money back. what i do not understand is why these clowns bother returning the cases if they are just going to steal the game.
because it clears it from their credit card..if your the first one to report it and right after the guy that put it back they can look at the last person to rent it and say it was him however the proof is some what below the reasonable doubt so I wonder what they would do
Well you can only return it if the barcode is on it so if they put the barcode on they don't have to pay for it. Idk if you actually tried the disk but I've rented movies that turned out to be cdr disks, but the movie was actually on it
I saw a lady with a shopping bag one time just popping discs out of the machine and tossing them in the bag. I went inside the gas station and told the guy working the register and he called the cops. By the time they showed up she was gone. I'm assuming she used a stolen credit card seeing as how it would be the dumbest crime ever if you used your own card
yea true that forgot about the bar code idk how one would go about getting that back on the cd. OP you trying to steal some games?
So the blank cd had a bar code .... How did it know where to store it when previous person returned it..... Op stole em and put blanks and that's what he's gonna say ...... Haha your busted
there's a paper bar code that is taped around the inner edge of the disk. they pulled that off and taped it back to the blank cd, and that is how they fooled the dispenser to accept the game as returned. the only way i can see people using their legitimate cards and getting away with this is by claiming that it must have been the person before them that did it. maybe claim that they didn't bother reporting it because it was only 2 dollars, and that is something red box cannot dispute. still, risking fraud charges for a damn game is pretty stupid.
well i went to another one a few blocks away and was able to get it. i like the game even though i don't know what the hell i'm doing most of the time
