I looked and couldn't find a small batch DIY AACT brewer on this site so I decided I would create my own. This can be made for less than $30 if you have access to a Walmart and don't mind shopping there. Unfortunately in my town it is either dollar stores or Walmart and dollar stores don't have these items. So here is what you need to buy from the fish section in the pet dept... (2) 5" airstones $1.68 each (2) 1" airstones $1.78 for pack of 2 (2) T connectors $1.38 for pack of 2 25' standard aquarium tubing $3.28 20-60 gallon air pump $10.78 and then cruise on down to the paint section and grab a 5 gal bucket and lid for about $4 for the both of them. Total cost approx. $27 You will need a drill, a 1/4 " drill bit, and scissors (measuring tape optional as all measurements are approx.) 1) Measure and cut 2 pieces of tubing approx 3-4 ft, 4 pieces approx. 1 ft, and 2 pieces approx. 6" 2) Connect one 6" and one footlong piece of tubing to the "T" outputs and one 3 ft long piece to the input 3) Connect the 5" airstones to the footlong pieces and the 1" airstones to the 6" pieces. 4) Drill (2) 1/4" holes into the side of the top lip of the bucket and thread the 3 ft long piece through the hole placing the 5" airstone on the bottom of the bucket and leaving the 1" airstones suspended approx. 6-8" above the bottom of the bucket. 5) Connect the backflow protector valves to the end of the 3 ft piece that is outside the bucket. 6) Connect each remaining 1 ft long piece of tubing to each backflow valve and then each tube to an output on the airpump. 7) Fill with 2.5 gallons of water and let set for at least 1 hour. 8) Add your ACT ingredients lightly stir and then plug in pump. 9) Stare at the witches cauldron and wait approx. 36 hours for your tea to be ready to feed your soil Now before anyone starts posting haterade messages saying I am not getting enough oxygen into the equation just because you have read somewhere that aquarium pumps are not sufficient to add the appropriate amount of oxygen please keep in mind this is a small batch brewer for 2.5 gallons or less. And oh also look at the final pic and tell me that ain't getting nicely aerated. I dare you.... lol
