Blackstrap Mollases/Nutrients

  1. Good Afternoon GC,

    I am looking ot purchase some Mollases today to ad to my meduim on my next watering...My question is, is it alright to add the Mollases to my FFBB nutrients and water?

  2. Molasses is best used to feed the soil biology - it does have some nutritional value to the plant, but not much. Adding it with the FFBB may counter-act the positive effects from the molasses, as the FFBB will kill off some of the biology in your soil, but I can't say for sure. When I use it, it is added into a tea, and the tea is fed on it's own, and never mixed with fertilizers.

    Just be sure to not use too much of it. Most people use far too much and this can have a negative effect on your plants. I think this mostly comes from people not quite understanding what it is that it does for the plants, and so they treat it like a fertilizer, which it is NOT. Use only 1 tbsp. per 10 gallons at most, or 1 mL per gallon. More than this is a waste of money IMO and can have negative effects on your soil and plants.
