PVC hydro w/11 two liter half bottles

  1. This system is all over the internet so i built one awhile back and recently added some clones which were rooted for 10-14 days 1/4-1/2" roots.I started them 2 days ago in the system out of the dome and into the 3" net pots w/hydroton,10 plants 6" in veg. w/four 26watt 6500K CFL lights and one 42 watt 2200 CFL in the center about 10" to start them.

I cycled the system yesterday and soaked the rockwool and today it was still wet so i raised the rockwool cubes so only the roots will get the nutes then cycled the system again today.

The res. has 10 gal of 1300PPM @6.0PH using mostly high PPM tap and some R/O with about 900PPM of GH in the form of the lucas system 2cc per gal of micro and 4cc grow, added a 12" air stone and rotating powerhead for a reef aquarium to circ. nutes.

Still looks real good except a lil bit of yellowing,FF 1-2 a day
    Questions:

Can anyone give some input which may help my chances of success as this was a last ditch effort to save the clones? I really want to flower ASAP but want to see the system support my plants for a week or two first.

At what point should i add more cycles to the net pots,my thought is 2-3 when i see roots through the bottom?

  2. For anyones info, this system ROCKS,I filled it and forgot it was even there and only checked the real time PPM/PH meter daily and did nothing till today.

I added water which was PHed,there under 10 42watt CFLs in flower and looking good.

  3. Well today i thought since the plants look SO good and the res. is not light proof and growing crap inside and smelling and the PH is dropping now at 5.0.

That ide guarantee some nice nugs,so i cleaned out the res and lightproof the res, then since i now have a huge R/O/D/I system,i would start feeding a lucas and AN sup. combo since my monsters love it so much.

10 gal in the res at all times and we will see what happens,i really love this system as it is prepping me for my next BB grow.:D

  4. My room has been 80F. and now that the res. is covered and light proofed I'm sure the nute temps are nearly the same so i put the air pump inside the closet at the bottom where the cold air intake is coming in and its at 60-75F. throughout a 24 hr day.

Soon i will be monitoring the temps D/T a BCM-500 Bluelab tri-meter and later a nute cooler will be used with the BB system, about 6 weeks away now.

  5. Wow, im gonna pull this off one day yo, looks like a great solution to drainage for multiple plants to me.

  6. Thanks, and when you do ill have all the bugs worked out.;)

  7. Even better, +rep

  8. love the setup man. i've seen a ton of these all over the internet.

don't you loose most of the light on those cfl's by pointing them down? i thought most of the light came from the sides.

  9. ok everything looks good but why do u use a airston i thought u use a sub pump for this how do you hook up the airstone??

  10. o yea whats those white things covering the hydroten pebbles and what are they used for

  11. and what does this mean R/O/D/I

  12. it's to keep light off the roots and it also keeps algae from growing. moisture + light = funky stuff on your shit.

  13. When using a reflector the light will be concentrated and reflected down, ive since also added some w/o the reflectors even lower(using your theory;)).

This system does use a sub. circ. pump which is the heart and sole of this system(on 4 times a day for 15 min during the lighting period)But an air pump and stone on 24/7 will help cool the solution and more importantly it adds the much needed DO,(dissolved o2;)) which the roots just love.

The covers are mylar and double as additional reflectors.:D

R/O D/I is Reverse Osmosis De-ionization,thats the type of water filter i use,its a six stage zero PPM/100 GPD system which is made very well and costs only $125.00.;)

    Any other questions?????

Here is a newer pic for your enjoyment.

  14. where did you get your R/o filter from

  15. nice to finally see some bud-porn. keep'em coming.

  16. Go to watergeneral.com then click on aquariums, then RD-102 to see the big pic. It makes up to 100 GPD if you have 80PSI,(who needs that much water anyways)i have 40psi and make 5 gal. in two hrs.

  17. OH,you like that shit,YES?????

Some other support stuff too,if ya want to see any other stuff just ask.;)

  18. can u explain what the second third and fourth pics are and what there used for im lost...

  19. Its interesting you didn't mention the eighth picture(you would be the first i heard of knowing what that is)#2 Is just a sink and a R/O system next to a desk #3 Is the high out put air pump im now using for this hydro system but will later fill 7 BBs with TONS of micro bubbles on my next grow. And #4Is two high output micro bubblers,i put four in the res to cool it and add DO.:D

  20. amazing job dude, your doing that system mega justice
