![]() But yeah, I agree. America needs to lead the way on decriminalization, nobody else seems to really be embracing it, at least to my knowledge. The only foreign issue I've heard about is the attempt at reclassification in England because there was too much of that "Fucked Up Super Skunk Class A." Enlighten me if there is a progressive country that's finally going to step up to end this stupidity. Maybe I just haven't heard of it.

Someone set off fireworks at the house next door.. not just sparklers either, a pretty nice array when it was announced. The best part was it was such a domination that as soon as the polls closed out here on the west coast, bam... President-Elect Obama. Why did i think it was even gonna be close? |

I duno, i think its cool, i wanted him to win. Not sure if its really going to make a diffrence though. i'm a white boy that lives out in the country, i hate racist people, i have to deal with them all the time, i just think its funny that their going to be so pissed and theres nothing they can do about it. Its going to be annoying hearing them bitch, but it will be funny seeing them mad.

Congratulations, Americans, you have finally come to your senses. You have rid yourself of the most vicious and disgusting regime in the history of your republic. Obama will have an uphill fight to improve things as the deficit is so great but at least it is a step in the right direction. I don't think Americans realize the depth of hatred people around the world, even allies, felt for the Bush administration. We may not like it, but we are in the last days of the American Empire. The future economic ,and perhaps military, powers will be China and India. Barring nuclear weapons the US military is stretched to the breaking point. Your troops are overworked and many who are suffering from post-traumatic strees are being kept in action by the use of Zoloft and other anti-depressants. There will be more fucked up people after this war than there were after Vietnam. At least the Vietnam war had a purpose, to help an ally and keep the reds out of SE Asia. The Iraq war was for? Who the fuck knows. Oil? To make George the Lesser look tough? I don't know, do you.

I disagree. Nothing abroad will change. We'll get out of Iraq just to concentrate on Afghanistan more. The U.S. military is strong still but not at it's strongest its ever been. We still have the best technology and the best trained troops on the earth. I know it's so horrible that Saddam is dead. Such a tragedy. Come to our senses? We will see in 4 years.

Deutshbag - Saddam and sons were monsters and are in their proper place but thousands of Americans and tens of thousands of Iraqis are dead too and Iraq is a greater danger to the world than before. Noone benefited more from the invasion than Bin Laden and Al Quaida. Next to George Bush, Osama considered Saddam his greatest enemy. It's not every day you can trick your most hated enemy into destroying your second most hated one. Before the Iraq invasion it was estimated that Al Quaida had less than 200 members, now there are thousands. GWB was the greatest recruitment tool Al Quaida ever had.

Less than 200? I'd like to see proof of that. Iraq is actually quite stable compared to what it was before civilian and troops are dying less and less. Was the war mishandled? of course no one is denying that. Like I've said countless times before history will judge Iraq. Of course we must focus on Afghanistan now and hopefully Pakistan will cooperate in taking care of these terrorist scum that infest their mountains. They have seen what can happen when you have terrorists in your borders. Hopefully Obama will achieve this sort of diplomacy. We could debate about why it happened and who is horrible all day but it will do no good. I do look forward to seeing what Obama will do in the case of Iraq and Afghanistan. Will the gains in Iraq be reversed if he withdraws too quickly? Is Afghanistan winnable without a lot of NATO countries and Pakistan's support? It will be up to Obama to make sure Americans are safe. That includes making sure Iraq is stable and finding a winning strategy in Afghanistan.
