that's what happens when folks have a football game mentality when it comes to electing something as important as a President of the US.

It's very disturbing.

Exactly, it's not like a football game where it proves the other one is a better team. It's not like that at all. It's just who the ignorant mass decided to vote for this time. They voted for Bush the last election and Obama in this one.

I imagine you're going to see war with either 'president' at the helm.

They manned up, and admit that they lost fair and square. Almost every blade who was on the other side of the aisle has tried to reach across, and try to reunite. The time for "Us and them" is over. The time of one america is now. That's the whole dammed reason we fought so hard to win! Now is not the time to cast someone out among the lepers for not believing as you do. We can be better then that.

Re: McCain Set to Win by Landslide!

It doesn't appear to me that the polling was biased at all.... FiveThirtyEight, one of the more popular polling aggregators, had the popular vote number virtually dead on and even underestimated the eventual size of Obama's electoral vote count.

Those complaining about the polling samples used by the agencies - 39D/32R and thereabouts - those turned out to be rather indicative of the Nov. 4 results. I grew rather tired of hearing about the "biases" of polling, particularly when people were confusing exit polls with actual industry-reputed polls with sample sizes in the range of 1500-3000. As an avid polling enthusiast I'm quite pleased with the results, not only because of the winner, but because it showed the merits of polling in the modern electorate. Quinnipiac, ARG, and Insider Advantage are certainly pleased with the results.

And lest we forget the famed "Bradley Effect"...

I tried explaining it to one of my friends about why I put so much stock into fivethirtyeight, but he just didn't get it.

Seriously, i wanna hire nate silver to make all my decisions.

"Nate, should I go hit on that girl?"

"Well dudeabides, according to my simulations, there's a 68.4 percent chance she's a dude, so I wouldn't"

"Thanks Nate Silver!"

Nate has become a star during this election cycle. He's been all over television and has really made a name for himself as a pundit and statistician. Couldn't have happened to a more worthy man and his website is fantastic. I almost can't wait for the 2012 election just to experience the polling and analysis all over again. I suppose the 2010 mid-terms will do!
