They are set for life. Why do they still want to make even MORE money? Is it the power? Is it greed? Makes no sense to me why they would want more money

They haven't reached their number for when they are satisfied. It's also the sense of power and control over whatever industry they are in. Some people who own business's and have lots of money are nice, some are mean. Some just like to see their product out there and know they have achieved something in the world and changed it and others just want to see the dollar bills roll in.

So they can blow it on shit they'll never use. A lot of rich folks are idiots who think of nothing but the money an continuing to live their hopeless lives in blindness and ignorance. Must be nice!

I think business owners look at their business as something they made, a part of them. Perhaps even like a family, or a child. With a business, their name gets to live for as long as the business does. After the business man dies, his legacy still lives.
If the owner of a business was to suddenly step down after making so much success, he might be afraid of his business going down the drain, failing in the hands of an inept replacement. He would feel ashamed at how he let down his employees, who he knows rely on the job he created to earn money.
Just a thought. They could just be greedy assholes.

Is it greed?:
Hit the nail on the head buddy.
Can't tar everyone with the same brush though.

The only reason that I can figure out is that some people enjoy watching the suffering of others.

some like Bill Gates enjoy the art of beneficial business. he is obviously not going to spend all his money but he likes investing in new ideas to make his products better. Ted Turner also said he liked to compete with other billionaires to make it to the top of a list like its a sports tournament

Because once you're rich it's incredibly easy to make even more money. Why stop there? Money=power and everyone wants to be as powerful as possible, it's human nature.

What Silemanx said is right on. When you start a business, it's your baby. You don't want to let that baby die! Lots of dumb people (mostly overly-extreme liberals) just assume that all corporations are evil and only care about money, but that's not true. Wal Mart, for example has taken a bad rep, but they're the largest employer in North America! Think how many millions of people rely on Wal Mart just to pay the bills. Is that evil? no. They're providing jobs to those who need it. Same thing goes for sweat shops in China. People like to bitch about Wal Mart manufacturing clothes in China for low wages. But do those people ever tell you that Wal Mart pays it's workers in China more than the total national average wage? didn't think so. The people who work in sweat shops work there because they're poor, not because someone is forcing them.
So, of course the people who run corporations will continue to make money. Why wouldn't they? They keep getting rich, and simultaneously providing millions of jobs to people around the world. Not to mention all the people they provide important services to.

It's not nature. It's capatilism.
Asians don't do this as much because it is more of a western mindset.

My theory:
They are all spending non needed money on weed and stock piling it in a high tech vault that keeps the weed good for a long ass time. One day when they have enough weed they will roll a joint so big that everyone in NYC would be able to toke it non stop.
Possible right?

I'm not trying to defend the greedy bastards, but a there's something a lot of people don't realize; most billionaires are only billionaires because of their investments/assets that they hold. These investments could very easily tank and leave the stockholder/investor/whatever you want to call them, with nothing. The best way to avoid this is to diversify one's investments, or what most people call being greedy if you already have money.

Not to mention Bill Gates has given away 48% of his net wealth to charity since 2007 and has saved the lives of millions of people. approx 5,812,000 lives according to this: Since 2007 Bill Gates has given away 48 percent of his net-worth for charity [Infographic]

some people cant just sit around and do nothing all day. even with billions of dollars some people like to work. why make 10 million and retire at 40 when you can make 20+ million and retire at 50 or 60

I think rich people develop a lifestyle that is expensive, like all their car payments, house payments and whatever else so that if they stopped making money, their expensive lifestyle would run them broke.
