Ive heard that if you put your weed in a envelope and put a stamp on it, the cops cant open your mail because it would be against the law. Is this true at all?

If i was serching for drugs a safe would be alot more obvious than some unopend mail.. there gunna want ro look in the safe once in the house so id say thats a pretty poor spot.

Op if the cops suspect that you have weed in the envelope or box they will find it.
Cops are above the law. Judges make the laws. And i'm sure there is a fuckload of holes in that mail law that make it legal for a cop to open your shit.

If they have reason for suspicion, they can open your letter up. You can try, but stupid thing to do anyway.

what about just carrying around a small lockbos and feign forgetting the key? they would need a warrant, right?
Envelopes would be much easier to carry though

If that law was so secure people would be mailing kilos of coke all around the world. Since they can't open our mail right?
Like i said i am positive that if a cop suspects that you have weed and its in an envelope he will get to it.
He could simply open the envelope and say it was sitting in the front seat if it really came down to that.

The mail idea is flawed since the law only applies to letters that actually go through the mail and thus have an ink stamp over the original stamp.

The idea behind this is that the mail is a federal program so the cops would need to get a federal warrant to open the envelope. It's not a bad idea to stop the casual officer from randomly opening it.
