When will seeds of Harlequin or Sour Tsunami be available?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Seeds Banks' started by CBDquest, Dec 26, 2011.

  1. At the moment I am looking into Cannatonic as being the best option so far if I were to buy seeds to treat my anxiety, but there are other strains that seem would be better due to their higher CBD and lower THC like those mentioned in the title, but for some reason there are no seeds of these strains available. So I am guessing that Cannatonic would be my best bet?

But it also seems from a bit of research that growing these seeds the plants may not have the ratios of CBD and THC (Cannatonic being 1:1 ratio) and you may end up with very little CBD and high THC, which I don't want to goto the effort of doing if this is true. Is what I've said sound right, or do these plants generally yield what they are said too? For example if I were to grow some cannatonic and it was said to yield 6% THC and 6% CBD will it most likely end up being that ratio or could it end up being like for example 15% THC and 0.15% CBD? (these are just examples, if they sound like weird ratios it's because I'm not too familar with CBD/THC ratios)

If I'm growing something, I want it to benefit me!

Also I'm a bit confused about the Tora Bora strain, I've read a few times that it is high in CBD, even this site tests it as high in CBD and low in THC:

Tora Bora | Full Spectrum Labs

But then after reading about the strain on seedbanks saying high THC levels I don't know what to think?

  2. Also I realize that you can influence the CBD levels to an extent. But is it really just hit and miss with each seed? This stuff is so confusing!

  3. Also been looking at Reserva Privada Sour Kush AKA Headband Feminized.

What seeds should I get!! ah!! so stressed right now, wish I could smoke and just chill and go to sleep without having a panic attack!

Even though it's fem, Cannatonic has 4 main phenos: sativa-dom, a purple, and 2 greens. I got the sativa-dom, and it was crap. Mr. Nice has high cbd strains for auction on his website, and Attitude carries CBD Seeds, whose White Widow sounds promising.

Edit: the green phenos of Cannatonic are the ones you want.

Breeder says only about one in six seeds exhibit the cbd rich trait.

  6. I think right now if your gonna be buying seeds its hit or miss anyway. It sounds like they really havnt isolated some good cbd traits as much as people think. I figure the only way you could have any guarantees is if you get some cuts.

  7. If I were to buy say some cannatonic seeds, would there be a way of influencing the phenotypes to produce a CBD rich plant (like the green phenos, what exactly does that mean btw)? Or is it more of a chuck the seeds in and cross your fingers type situation?

But once I found a CBD rich plant I could keep growing it by cuttings or those kind of methods also, could I not? (I don't know much about this, so I apologize if this makes no sense)

Should cannatonic be the only strain I should be looking into at the moment? I am from Australia by the way, so I am limited to the seedback I can buy from.

  8. Just go get any heavy indica and let the thing flower until it dies. You will zone hard and eyes might feel like they are bleeding but should be up there in cbd & cbn

  9. Mr. Nice has a 1:1 cbd:thc plant, it is called z7. Google 'Mr. Nice Auctions' and you will see where it is available.

Its worth doing some homework on phenotypes and what that means, which will help you decide on the right plant to take clones from. Clones are cuttings taken from a plant that you already know to produce the medicine/results you are looking for. I suggest looking through the beginner and indoor sections, check out their stickies, a lot of your questions will be answered in detail in those threads. The more homework you do now will majorly influence your later success/failure.

Wish yah good luck in finding the seeds that suit your medical needs. The CBD rich plants are just starting to roll out, and is a new thing for seed companies, so you have to pardon the lack of availability for now. In the future, I think these type of plants will have a much more pronounced and defined place in the cannabis market... instead of the two or three listings available now. I think you may have to grow a few different plants, maybe even a few different strains, till you find that 'keeper'. Should be worth your effort though.

    good luck, and enjoy :smoke:

The only evidence I've ever seen about influencing CBD levels is that some recent lab testing has shown a possible correlation between harvesting early and higher cbd to thc ratios. They theorize that CBD forms earlier than THC in the plant.

There is a *lot* of misinformation out there and it's repeated regularly by people so it takes on a life of it's own. Read the information here Medicinal Cannabinoid FAQ: What are THC, CBD, CBN, CBC and to learn about what THC and CBD and CBN etc actually are.

This link is incredibly useful for those looking for a high CBD strain: Finding CBD- A Look at Trends in Indica and Sativa Strains | Pure Analytics Blog

And most importantly deal with your anxiety now, there are three easy things you can do that will make a world of difference speaking from deep experience with the same issues:

    1) Get outside and get some exercise, really hard intense exercise. Look up Tabata Sprints or do what you want but it better be incredibly intense (like almost puking intense and put a *lot* of stress on your body) and short, no longer than half an hour (Tabata intervals only take 14 minutes including a 5 minute warm up and cool down).

    2) Next most important is getting enough sleep which is hard if you don't do the exercise and end up sitting awake stressing which is why I put exercise first. Shoot for minimum 8 hours a night. Latest research confirms that it's ok if you split it up because you wake up in the middle of the night so don't stress about getting 8 hours in a row, just 8 hours total.

    3) Third is cutting out anxiety producing foods like sugar, caffeine, high glycemic carbs like whole wheat, grains, rice, potatoes and eating more vegetables and meat instead. Look up a ketogenic diet for details, it's commonly prescribed to epileptic children to cut back on their seizures but also for losing fat quickly and everyone on a low carb diet always reports clearer thinking and feeling calmer where before they were filled with anxiety but didn't realize how much until it was gone. Once you've done that for a few weeks you will feel far better and can then look at switching to a "Paleo" diet which is long term sustainable and incredibly healthy besides.

It took me a *lot* of time and effort to learn to control my anxiety and if you do those three things I absolutely guarantee you will feel tremendous relief within days or your money back.

    Good luck and take care.

  13. Do you reside in a medical state CBDquest?

  14. Will the be available on main seedbank sites?

Thanks for the articles and tips in regards to anxiety, I exercise, get my 8 hours and eat healthy. I've tried Paleo/keto type diets but nothing in regards to my diet has helped, I just eat plenty of foods you mention anyway.

No, I am actually from Australia, which makes this alot harder!

  15. The Cannatonic is available from resin seeds through Attitude I believe. Don't know if they ship to Australia tho. Breeder says about 1 in 6 seeds grows a high cbd plant so don't plan on a couple single seeds.

  16. Think I would try out one of the purest indica strains.hashplant perhaps..if you find something you like, try to keep a male and save it to breed your own seeds from it.

  17. Look for landrace Sativa and Indica hash / charas strains. Plenty of cbd in those strains because they were not selected for thc only as is the case with strains grown for the buds (ganja). On another forum site out of the UK there is a thread started with a guy growing those strains out and testing them with a cannalytics kit and he was seeing CBD in every sample. (Sadly he tossed them all because he was looking for only 100% cbd for his medical needs.)

Lots of really good CBD discussion on that site.

  18. Gage Green is workign on some Harle. crosses right now.. probably be a summer release
