Well this will be the start of my second grow. The first one ended rather abruptly due to a break in to my apartment. I am gonna post some pics and give you a run down of what will be going on in the this grow.

Autopot System with airdomes inside pots
Blackstar 240 LED flowering model
1 Ice fem
1 Blue Mystic Fem
I will be using FFOF soil mixed with about 40% more perlite added.
I will be using the GH line-up of nutrients...Gro, Micro, Bloom
A 4 inch inline fan pulling 178 cfm and a 10 inch carbon filter
Plan on making several upgrades during this grow...a secret jardin dr 90 for flowering and a phresh filter.

Well there it is..a couple of thoughts on what worked and didn't last time for me and a couple improvements that i made for "take 2":smoke:

More perlite added to the medium. Since the autopots sit directly in the water 24/7 a light airy mix will be much better I think. The addition of the airdomes in the pot should also really help as well. Also, I wasn't a fan of the automatics I did last time.. they didn't go auto..running my system 18/6 the whole time vs. a nice window of 12/12 this grow(energy savings) with the potential for better and a bigger yield as well..all in all it is kind of a no brainer to do some photos this round.

The ice bean cracked this morning..I started them this time in some jiffy pellets..once they are up I will put them directly into the autopots. Not gonna lie, pretty happy about having a couple of ladies going again. I am def hooked on growing :) Also thanks to everyone who helped me last round. LETS GROW !!!!! Stay Green my friends, and have a happy and safe holidays.

Well they ladies are looking great, although they are growing a little slower than the auto's I did last time, which I expected would be the case with photos since they have a longer potential life cycle. I am noticing already that the Ice girl is a bit tempermental when it comes to heat. I had to raise the light a bit as she was not liking it to close. No nutes yet, prob wait another week before playing around with nutrients. Also been dealing with some heat issues in the box since it is unseasonaly warm were I am. No snow yet which is unheard of where I am. Happy new years everyone. Time to start the wings on the grill and have a barley pop or 2 :) It is gonna be a monoply and farkel kind of night with friends and fam this New Years. Stay safe and Green everyone.

Here is some new pics of what has been happening. They are 10 days from seed today. They look really good in my opinion. The Ice is on the left and the Blue Mystic on the right. No nutrients yet. Probably give them a light feeding of half strength nutes this weekend. I expect them to really take of in the next week. Also I have a question about vegging. I planned on vegging for 3 weeks, but does that mean 21 days..or..21 days after the 2 week intial growth period? So like 5 weeks really? Or should I not gauge it by days but by the heigth I want them when I flower...grrr...

What's up everyone and anyone still subbed to this thread...
I made some upgrades and am getting ready to kick off a new grow. Here is some pics of what I will be working with..Secret Jardin DR 90..Blackstar 240 flowering..3 Grow tubes..had 'em laying around figured why not. Improved filter/fan combo...autopots (not in pics) The fan only pulls 190 cfm and creates a hell of a lot of negative pressure..loving it...On a side note this little plant I have in here is a miracle of life lol...She started in soil, was switched to a dwc and then back into soil..haha she's alive..she has been a guinea pig for what I want to use this run...stunted as hell and showing pistils...GO SWEET DWARF AUTOMATIC !!!....lol.FFOF and autopots that's the way to go for me. Still haven't ordered seeds..Thinking the Blue Mystic is the way to go for me ..just waiting for that Weekend Whopper lol...anyways when It kicks off I will start a new journal under my sig..sorry I didn't complete this journal...anyway Stay Green...

Hey TroutTalker,
I just got some autopots too. I was thinking of going with smart pots, but chose to try the autopots instead. I got 4 of the 5L and 2 of the 7.5L size. Both look pretty big to me. I think I'll try the 5L and see how I do. You are supposed to be able to use smaller pots and get bigger plants with these. I have 1 Papaya and 1 NL that are in coco starter pots. I'm going to put these in the autopots soon. What size autopots did you get? I'm looking forward to watching your new grow. Maybe we can compare our autopot action coming up. I have been wanting to try something besides the Hempy's. Should be fun. Peace

That's awesome TB, Mine are the 2 gallon pot size..From what I have seen in them, you can get some pretty big plants in the smaller pots because they basically create a capillary mat on the bottom of the pot. 2 things I have found with them. 1. Easy and make for a boring grow..haha (not necessarily a bad thing) 2. The more air flow in the water and medium the better. You basically have the roots sitting in a pool of water. I bought the airdomes for mine. Also a really light airy mix for your medium. Also of note, I have a friend using them with strictly hydroton..and some in straight perlite..not working out so well...Coco would be most excellent..you know I like my FFOF mixed with a ton of perlite though haha....I am curious to see what a green thumb like you can achieve in these...

Thanks man. Ill be using Canna coco medium. I need to look into the airdomes. I don't know how I missed these. I didn't see them offered where I was shopping. Are they an autopot add on? Airstone?

Yeah they are, they are like 30 bucks for a pair... kind of expensive imo..in my first journal I made a couple of home made ones...Just a net cup with a airstone inside.Worked fine. I know people that don't use them and everything works just fine for them. They are not a must have but, I wanted them. Plus when I used them my roots were really white and crunchy :) uber healthy....

Some pics of an Aurora harvest from Nirvana. Wasn't a huge yielder but did okay with what lighting I had available. Really wispy nugs but a knock-your dick in the dirt kind of stone. Pulled about 1.5 ozs off her. Also moved into a new house. No more apartment living :) I also have a new daughter. Athena...haha..she is about 11 weeks old..olde english..I figure every garden should have a gate keeper :) ...someday I will start a new journal..just been super busy...also starting some ladies for the "great outdoors" Stay Green Everyone

Those are some sparkly nugs you have there, sir. I roll primarily joints. Durning times of no grinder, the whispy nugs are a plus; makes breaking it down with scissors very quick.
