CAN-EH-DIANS: Bill C-10 Clarification?

I know that Stephen Harper is planning on passing Bill C-10 soon and to be honest, I really know nothing about politics. I've tried to read up on it but just need a little bit of clarification.

So from what I'm gathering, if you get caught growing 6 or more plants, you are going to have to serve a mandatory sentence of 6 months (minimum), and that if you posses any type of edibles/hash/kif you have a slightly larger minimum mandatory sentence. So, if what I've gathered is correct, what would happen to those who grew 1-5 plants? Would any legal action be taken? Would it appear on their criminal record?

Honestly man.... I live in Quebec and literally EVERYONE I asked who they voted for or who they're going to vote for it was either Liberals or NDP. NDP did extremely well in Quebec but seriously how the conservatards won is actually mind boggling....

Most of Northern Ontario is NDP as well. I too don't know anyone who voted for Harper.

I understand that, but my question is if you have 1-5 plants? As well as what if you are renting? Someone on another forum told me even if you have 1 plant but are growing while renting you get the same sentence as 6 plants. Although, a friend of mine said that wasn't true. I'm hearing a bunch of different opinions and trying to filter out which ones are true and what I can do to grow my own supply of meds.

Vancouver is where it's at! Vansterdam has some pretty dank stuff and some nice cannabis cafes too! We also have seed shops across the street from them and everyone blazes at the art gallery. Should come down and visit!
