Hey guys, with the advice and help i have recieved from you over the past month and a half, I have started my first grow! I am running 24 plants (this is a medical grow), although i am cleared to grow 36 as of now... I am running a CAP ebb n gro system (just picked it up tonight) 2 1000 Watt lights on light movers, and 2 400 watt lights to help the coverage of the lumens. I am hoping to run two different strains, 6 white domino, and 18 purple people eaters. I will be running GH's system for Veg, and then switching over to the lucas formula for flower. Stay tuned for more updates! I would also like to thank ekomsi and sugar daddy, because i got most of my ideas from these guys! Thanks!

I finished my cloner and it was extremely easy to make. I bought a 25 gallon tote from lowes, and found some DIY plans online, and had it made in about 2 hours and at the low low cost of 90 dollars. I used a 264 GPH pump, EZ cloner misters, EZ cloner neoprene collars, and 1/2 inch PVC with all the fixtures you can see in the picture. Gonna be putting some clones in pretty soon!

Ok i put the clones in 8 days ago, and i am not seeing any signs of roots yet... I am concerned that they may never start to root... I am running a weak Olivia's cloning solution, and reverse osmosis water. My water temps in the cloner are staying right around 72 degrees and my room temps are around 70 degrees, with a humidity of around 50%. The cloner is under a flourescent fixture with 4 t8 bulbs. I did NOT dip the cutting in a cloning gel or powder, because i was under the assumption that the cloning solution was the same thing. I made sure I cut the cutting at a 45 degree angle and put them in reverse osmosis water right away, and then transferred them to the cloner. I was wondering if A) The top being yellow is letting too much light in, and maybe that affects the rooting process? (even though i have seen DIY cloners with clear plastic...) or B) Maybe I didn't trim enough of the lower nodes off of the cuttings? What do you guys think?

I see roots within 3-5 days, but I use clonex clone solution at 1/4 strength and dip cuts in clonex gel. Any Roots yet?

Most important step is to add about 1.5 cup of bleach and hot water to your system, run for 30 min drain and refill with fresh water, run system for 15-30 min drain rinse and dry, then your ready to roll. Sometimes I dont dry and after rinsing just add water and then clonex solution.

Its day 12 and 2 of the girls popped roots finally, and alot of the others seem to be pretty close behind... (alot of white bumps on the stem... )next time I will definitely use clonex and also dip in a rooting gel, I cleaned the entire ebb n gro system, as I got it from a friend and it was just used. Stay tuned for more pics in the next few days, thanks eko for the response!

Should I change the water right now? I would like to give my roots a little incentive to pop so I was thinking maybe some fresh ro water with clonex or maybe a few drops of superthrive?

Hi there, Good to see a new grower. I myself have done near 6 months of research on here, and am about to switch my first crop to flower!

I am about ready to start the cloning process and here is some advice i have from what i gathered from other forums.

The greater the humidity on clones the better, possibly put a dome on it, and spray the foliage to keep it moist.
Also by trimming the leaves on the clones the plant wont have to worry so much about keeping the leaves healthy, and can focus all of its energy on growing a rooting system.

Just give it time, im sure you will be successful, just make sure the water level/misters are reaching the stems

ill be subbd on this grow. My second grow, and first clone process will be a few weeks behind yours, look forward to comparing grows with you. Good strain choices (just had some black domina that was amazing)

Time for an update, I changed the cloners water last night and it was getting pretty nasty... the filter on the pump was plugged full of this milky looking greasy substance, it reminded me of a the silicone you get in the tubes, needless to say I cleaned it up... I tore the pump all apart and cleaned the cloner really well with a really light mix of bleach water, and then I let the pump run with this solution for about 15 minutes and then ran tap water twice through it for another 15 minutes to ensure the bleach was gone... I filled it back up with r.o. water and put clonex to 1/4 strength along with a cap full of h2o2. I checked the clones today and the roots are going crazy, at least 10 have roots and they're are growing like crazy, probably 10 more have white bumps all over them and look like they will pop in the next day or so... my rez temps went through the roof last night, not sure if it was because I didn't have as much water in there as before but it was 79 degrees instead of my normal 72 degrees... I added more water, hopefully that will control the temps a bit better... hopefully some pics will be coming soon

I noticed my cloner temps get pretty high but if you disenfect the cloner with bleach each time you use it, temps wont matter as much.

Time for another update... 23 of my 31 clones have roots or at least have root bumps, with a few that have WAY better root systems, with probably 20-30 roots that are about 6-8 inches long. The edges of the leaves are starting to yellow slightly, i figured the plants were probably getting kinda hungry so i added just a tiny bit of GH Bloom and a capful of calmag... I am thinking that i will have to put these in the system sometime soon, but i am afraid that the others wont be ready, so would it maybe be a good idea to take the three clones that are way ahead and get them into the system a week early and scrog them, or would that not be enough extra time for them? Sorry about no pics, my laptop broke so now i am using my phone... Hope to have some up soon!

Quick update: after doing some research it seemed 400 ppm was a bit high, so i took some water out and than diluted the system with RO water down to about 300 PPM, the leaves are still yellowing towards the outside edge, while the center of the leave is still dark green. The leaves are still tender, not crispy, could this be a nitrogen deficiency or maybe nute burn? I know its hard to tell without pics i will try to get some up in a day or two...

Time for an update, its been awhile and I have been super busy... all the the clones rooted after I put clonex in the system... I transplanted 6 white domina and 18 purple people eaters into the ebb n gro system and they are doing well... I currently have them under a 1000 watt metal halide that is at 50% output and the other twelve are under an 1000 watt hps bulb at 50 % output because my other mh bulb was broken from shipping... I hope to have more pictures in a day or two, my computer is still broken and I have a new one on the way...

Late to the show, but looking forward to watching how this turns out. Clonex is the way to go, as long as my pump doesn't go out, I've never had problems when I use that stuff. I always dip the cuttings in the gel, then straight to the cloner.

Nicely done so far.

Ok here are some pictures from the last week of my cloning process... The white domina seemed to root easier than the purple people eater, but this may be due to the fact that the WD cuttings were more supple and green, whereas the PPE cuttings were much bigger. All 31 cutting had roots or were sprouting roots when i transferred the chosen 24 to the ebb n gro system. I had some roots that were probably 16 inches long, while some of the PPE cuttings were bringing up the tail end with maybe 4 inch roots. I did notice the cuttings with the nice root systems were actually getting quite a bit of new growth in the cloner before the transplant took place.

Ok here are some pictures from after the ladies were transferred to the ebb n gro system... As you can tell i have 1 HPS and 1 MH light because one of my MH bulbs was smashed in shipping. (the new 1 is on the way) The last two pictures are of two of my girls that don't look nearly as perky as the rest of them... The little one has looked like that ever since it was in the cloner for a week, and my other problem child started looking like that about 4-5 days before transplant. Any ideas on whats wrong with them?

The #1 thing I have came across so far is an EWC TEA, if you run into root problems I recommend brewing up a tea. Let me know if you need help.

As far as the two ill plants, they look like they might need some more nutrients.

heck yea eko! The more advice the better, and if its going to benefit my ladies I am pretty much all for it... What does EWC stand for anyways?

Ok i am starting to run into my first deficiency or some sort of problem with my plants. The outside jagged edges of the leaves are turning an olive brown color, while the tips are curling upwards and turning brown. Some of my plants have white spots on them which i know is a sign of spider mites but i have went over these plants leave for leave and i have not seen any other signs of spidermites, including the mites themselves... I have been feeding around 500 ppm 3 times a day. When i check the rez i always knock the PH down to 5.6, but every time i come back it is at about 6.2. I am guessing that is from the hydroton still because i dont have any problems with slime in the rez or anything. I am feeding GH's 3 part line, and i have been adding just a bit of cal mag too... My lights are about 30 inches away from the plants and are currently set on 50 % of 1000 watts... My temps are running about 73 degrees during the day and about 65 at night. I bumped my PPMS up to 800 because some of the leaves are looking kinda sad and i was told to bump them a bit. I also changed to watering 4 times a day, 3 during the light cycle and one two hours before the light cycle (18-6). There is also a bit of browning in spots on the leaves, but i will let the pictures explain my situation... thanks
