Hello everyone!

I'm new to Grasscity but have been to this site many times via asking master google certain questions and thought you guys would be able to help me out!

My question is: If I'm a member of a Medical Marijuana Dispensary in Vancouver, BC am I legally allowed to grow my own crop? I understand there would definitely be limitations as to how many plants depending on indoor/outdoor, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere online! I'm not sure whether there are certain levels of being a MMJ patient that allow you to , or if anyone who has been recommended by a doctor and is a MMJ patient would be able to grow legally (for personal use only, obviously).

My apologies if this question has already been answered elsewhere. Hoping this will help people in the future answer their questions.

Happy toking! :smoke:

if youre mmar exempt then yes you should be able to cultivate a certain amount of plants but that amount directly correlates with how many grams per day you are allowed.

You might have to register with a form for personal grows, kind of like the form for assigning someone as a caregiver for you. but I'm not 100% positive.

i understand your thinking in coming here to ask this, but considering their are potentially HUGE legal ramifications if you dont do this the right way id highly suggest speaking to a lawyer or someone in the business.

Absolutely not. You need you have a Doctor sign These Forms. Only qualified patients are allowed to have a licence to possess/produce. I don't know how this dispensary is allowed to just give you weed. I went through alot to try and get my licence and I have a legitimate illness. The only legal way in Canada to possess medical marihuana is to have a licence.

They have all the information you need on the Health Canada website...

P.S. ElectricWarrior you stole my picture :o

I have a legitimate illness as well. There are many medicinal dispensaries in Vancouver that allow you to get your medicine if you have a form filled out by a doctor. I actually took a look at the Health Canada website shortly after posting this, but found a problem. If I want to produce my own plants, it says that I'd need my property owner's consent to grow in my current residence. Since I'm renting, I would have to get my landlord to sign off on it. The problem with this is that I highly doubt he will be okay with me trying to grow my own medicine. So I could try filling out all the forms, only to get shot down by him and probably offend him (he's a very conservative type). I don't know any other place I would be able to grow and would want it to be somewhere I live so I could make sure no one is messing with my plants while I'm not there.

This is only the case if you are getting someone else to grow for you. If you are living in the same place that you are growing, you do not have to say anything to your landlord. That is your own privet medical business. Trust me I just went though the process. If your doctor will sign a piece of paper for the dispensary, what is stopping him from signing the Health Canada forms?

Please take time to actually read the paperwork. This is a quote directly from the Health Canada Website:

"IMPORTANT: If you plan to produce marihuana at a site that is not your ordinary place of residence and is not owned by you, you must get the owner(s) of the production site to complete Form F: Consent of Property Owner ."

It's in subsection: C2 Production Site

Ahhhhh! I understand now. I read that before and thought it meant that if I'm growing at a place I don't own, I have to get the landlord to sign it. It was a misunderstanding on my part. Thanks so much for clearing that up!

I do have another question though. What happens if I end up moving from the place I originally applied for? Would I just have to fill out an address change form or something? I read that it's only good for a year, and that if it expires you have to fill out a renewal. The problem with this is, the end of my lease is in June and since my roommate is moving to another province, I'd need to find a new place to live after my lease.

You have to renew the licence every year, but Health Canada has renewal forms and the process doesn't take too long. You do have to get the doctors signature every year tho. As for moving, you just fill out a change of address form and send it into Health Canada, it will probably take 3 months for the change to take effect. I suggest moving into your new place first before you apply for your licence to make the process simple and easy.

One more thing, not all conservatives are close minded people that hate weed, let's stay away from stereotypes. Let's focus on educating people :smoke: Good luck

The English term marijuana comes from the Mexican Spanish word marihuana

mmmm I don't think you know what the fuck you're talkin about, man...probably Marjorim, not marihuana

Etymology

The term, originally spelled variously as marihuana, mariguana, etc., originated in Mexican Spanish.[2] The ultimate derivation is unknown.

The word entered into English usage in the late 19th century. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the first known appearance of a form of the word in that language is in Hubert Howe Bancroft's 1873 The Native Races of the Pacific states of North America.[1] Other early variants include marihuma first recorded in 1905, marihuano in 1912, and marahuana in 1914.

Although the spelling "marijuana" is more common in current usage, the correct spelling in the Marihuana Tax Act is "marihuana". "Marihuana" was the spelling most commonly used in Federal Government documents at the time.

The direct translation in Spanish of "Marihuana".

Spelling it with an "H" is also less confusing to people in Canada who speak English/French. Why are you trying to be so arrogant

Have any useful information to contribute or are you still trolling?
