1st Closet Grow (6 female 400watt mh 150 cfl)

Well for now have just been reading and debating between soil and a dwc grow. I'm high and could rant for a while about both but I'm just gonna say I'm leaning towards soil. Seeing that I might be having two jobs pretty soon and dwc requires what seems like a good amount of attention.

Well today I ordered my seeds from attitude cost about 50 euros for these and 2 freebies.

1x Green House - Jack Herer Feminized
1x Reserva Privada - OG Kush - Feminized
World of Seeds - Afghan Kush Special -Feminized
1x Barney's Farm - Tangerine Dream - Feminized
1x Green House - Super Lemon Haze - Feminized

Gives me a little bit more time to make a deciding on soil or dwc.

Will also be getting a
400watt mh and some cfls for the sides
Ph tester (whats better an ec or ppm kind of confused about that still)
And depending on what I decided soil or supplies for dwc

Could use some help picking an ac would like to avoid it if possible. My house is relatively cool bout 74 on the reg and my closet is about 7x2x8 I'd say super rough estimate.

Look forward to this had to post asap cause ordering seeds is the first part right.

Need:
Flowering Nutes & 150 watt hps for extra lighting during flowering as well
Oscillating fans and an a/c and inline fans

Germ Day 1: 11/16/11 4:20
Started off by ph'ing my water to 6.5 and soaked rapid rooters and squeezed excess water out. Placed rapid rooters in small plastic cups with soil around the rapid rooter to fill in empty space. Placed seeds pointed side up and covered with a little piece of torn off rapid rooter. Then put cups into humidity dome under 125watt cfl.

G Day 2: 11/17/11

Checked dome still not sprouting but I know its just me being super impatient lol. Other then that sprayed with mister though out night and day making sure they're moist.

Room seems like it will more then likely eventually lead to a heat issue since it already feels pretty warm in there with just one 125 cfl. I plan on setting up the 400 watt mh in two weeks not looking forward to trying to find solution.

Pics or it ain't happening

Although I planted the seeds in the root cubes I couldn't help but to check to see if they had cracked the shell so I poked two of them out and both have there tap root showing. Thought I had messed up by planting pointed tip up but apparently it doesn't matter. Hope I didn't fuck them up by pulling them out.

G Day 3: 11/18/11
All tap roots are starting to turn seed sideways digging into root cube should hopefully sprout through the hole soon.... I'm so impatient gonna have to get over that

G Day 4: 11/19/11
Jack and TD are both sprouting. First true leaves are even visible on Jack they're teeny tiny though. OGK and AK have the seed fixing to peek over the hole but still have shell on them and Yumbolt and SLH are still digging way in. Can't wait to see them tomorrow.

G Day 5: 11/20/11
All but SLH and Yumbolt have sprouted. I'm kind of worried about OG shit don't look that great think I might of fucked it up on my not so needed hourly checking when tap roots were growing.

Sprout Stage Day 1: 11/21/11

All seeds have sprouted. OG's cotyledons look a little dark hopefully it ain't bad. Y47 is in last place right now barely letting go of seed shell this morning. Others have have first true leaves starting to grow. Although JH first true leaves are dark for some season its the tallest.

Watering and misting occasionally with 6.5 ph'd water

Sprout Stage Day 3: 11/23/11

Roots have reached bottom of small plastic cups. I felt like had been over watering so I cut up the old cups and transferred all the plants into new bigger cups and mixed the super damp soil from the old cups with fresh dry soil to get a good mixture.

I have a thin sheet of green shit growing over the rapid rooters after reading a bit online I'm pretty sure its algae since it has a smell and there's no way my week old babies already smell.

I know transferring should be avoided at all costs is it bad they I did though? They seem to have responded pretty well. Algae sheet is still there though. Also removed humidity dome feel like I should of done this a few days ago when freshly sprouted and first set of true leaves were visible.

SS Day 5: 11/25/11

Watered today with 6.4 ph'd tap water was super tempted to add minuscule amount of nuits but decided to wait till next watering. Also moved light about 2 inches up felt it was to close.

I added the little white piece of cardboard because I had a thin green sheet of what I'm pretty sure was algae growing on the rapid rooters. Algae requires light oxygen and ? just forgot. Boom 2 days later thin green shit gone

Closet is about 7x2x8 plan on doing some lst to make em some nice bushy plants. Will take best two and make them momma plants and move em elsewhere eventually take some clones off em and roll with those two for a while.

Just saying they'll prbly be og kush just cause its mothufuckin og kush and afgan kush.

Right now I just leave one of the sliding doors to the closet open and have temps in the whole room at 70ish.

Once I start running the metal halide, about a week or two depending on growth, I plan on buying a 4in or 6in with carbon filter off ebay. Hopefully that will keep my room cool
