Peer pressure for smoking marijuana is bullshit

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Alex1646, Oct 19, 2011.

  1. I don't get why people keep saying that there is a lot of peer pressure for smoking. When I started smoking it took me a long time to get the trust of people to tell me they smoke, and even longer for me to work up the currage to ask. I have never pressured someone into smoking. I don't understant why people keep saying so.

  2. I was pressured into smoking

    And I don't regret a thing :bongin:

  3. Peer pressuring is true for some people but it all depends who. I got peer pressured when I was 12 years old by the older kids and honestly at that age everything looks fucking awesome especially when its older kids or whatever. But then again there were the other 12 year olds in my grade at that time and they were scared shitless of any kind of smoke. Every individual is different and we all got our own opinions. Free speech mothafuckas!! Peace Love Unity Respect, P.L.U.R!

  4. I wasn't peer pressured, I actually wanted to try weed. I don't regret it ever since.

  5. I was pressured a tiny amount before I toked. That tiny amount being people asking "hey you want a hit?" "or you dont smoke?" after I said no, that was it. no one bugged me, no one pushed it into my face.
The day I first smoked I wasn't pressured into it at all, my bestfriend was already smoking. I was spending the night at his house, and I told him I wanted to try it. we were only 13/14, but my best friend even asked if I was sure I wanted to try it one last time right before we smoked.

  6. Anyone out there wondering if they should try marijuana...

Do it...You see rainbows and unicorns, you know you want to see rainbows and unicorns...Do it, go ahead.

  7. I was never peer pressured. Got offered a few seshes when I was 15 but kindly refused because I didn't really like the guy. When I was 17 i decided i wanted to try it so i asked around, got an 1/8th and made a homemade bong :)

I've tried to get a friend of mine high but only because i thought he was actually interested. He took a few hits but didn't inhale very well then just said he couldn't be bothered lol.

  8. Some peopple are more vulnerable to peer pressure i am not my friends smoked 8 months then i was tempted to try but they always tryed to convince me but i never did...

  9. i wasn't pressured into it. my close mate had tried it and told me about it, so i was like sounds good man lets get some and that was that.

one time when i was like 16 i remember i was with a bunch of friends including some girls, and one of them had never smoked before. one of my friends was really trying to pressure her into hitting the joint, so i told him to shut the fuck up and told her that she didn't have to if she didn't want to. she ended up not smoking, but hit me up a few weeks later saying she wanted to try it, without the group there. i think she appreciated that i didn't pressure her but let her do it on her own terms

  10. i started with a group of my closest friends at the time, we would be in a van and drive all over the greater area of long beach.. we did other drugs but stopped after a while and i just stopped doing everything for about a year.

went dirt biking with other close friends and we went cursing in a truck in the desert at night hot boxing it and it was the weirdest spiritual thing since i did shrooms on a camping trip hahaha

but fast forward 9 or so months of smoking daily id say i only smoked with 3 or 4 other people about twice. its never been a group think with me, i think i like being high and doing my own thing

  11. Just because you've never experienced it, doesn't mean it doesn't happen ;)

As for me, i got to 17 years old and decided that it was something i wanted to try - i spoke to a guy at school who i spoke alot to in school but never hung out with, told him i wanted to try it and he sorted me out. We ended up being really close mates and it totally changed my life.

    WHOA.

    @OP

the phrase: "everybody is doing it" is truer than it's ever been lol

  13. I was pressured into it. I wanted nothing to do with it but my friend really wanted me to try it. I finally cracked (after some research) and I quickly understood why he was urging me so much to try it. I don't regret it one bit.

  14. I wasn't peer pressured into it, wanted to do it ever since I found out that I've been lied to and it has medical benefits that fitted my needs. :)

  15. The same thing for me. If anything I was peer-pressured to not do it. WHich is still annoying as fuck, I will and can do anything to my body that I want to. In my school theres a fair amount of stoners but it seems like if you're not a stoner you are really against weed. I still get lots of bullshit like its bad and its illegal.

I'm 18 and just yesterday my friend asked if I wanted to drink? I said sure. Than he replied with don't get high. Its illegal. I was just like are you fucking retarded? So is underage drinking which is literally poisoning your body. Where as if I smoke, bye bye insomnia, ADD with some strains, and I can breath better with my asthma.

  16. I'm always peer pressured. Whenever I decide to take a T-break and a friend waves a bag in my face, I can't say no. TOO HARD

  17. Where i'm from it's perfectly legal for an 18 year old to drink yourself into oblivion every day of the week but you'll get a fine through your door and a black mark on your record for possesion if your caught with .5g. People are still just as judgemental of weed where i'm from too.

Don't get me wrong, i can drink alot more than most people and i like to drink more than most people my age (a half bottle of vodka is my pre-booze for a night out - asin i will go out after drinking that and begin my night on the town) but i still get looked down on by my peers for smoking. Girls in particular are very judgemental - i've got into arguments about it before, and people just descend into "its just not good for you" after i've destroyed every other stupid fact they've pulled out :p

Shouldn't hate on alcohol so much though man, i prefer a booze to a smoke - and i used to be a daily smoker

  18. Haha I didn't need to be peer pressured! I had wanted to try smoking weed since early elementary school.

  19. I wouldn't worry about stoners pressuring anybody, its those alcoholics you gotta watch out for

  20. I prefer smoking to booze but that's just me. I didn't exactly mean to hate on alcohol since I do drink a bit but very rarely. I don't really have anything against alcohol but I do call out its faults if someone is judging me for smoking while they are talking about drinking. I'll do my thing while they do there's. Except unlike most the people at my school, I don't judge them for what they are doing unless its someone who constantly rags on me for smoking.

Honestly I don't really see as why I defend smoking because most people nowadays are to ignorant and close minded to listen. The government really carved into there brain that weed is bad.
