Hello GC!
First off I've got to say that GrassCity is one of the finest sites out there, it's got the chillest people and vibe to it. Since I've been a member, about a month ago, I'm on this site at least once a day reading through forums and journals, inspiring me to write one of my own. Thanks for being a part of it.:D
This is my first time growing indoors. I have had 2 cycles outside, both with results I was pleased with. Although the second cycle I burnt my plant 2nd week into flowering.:(
Anyways, the tent is set up in the music room, so I will be spending lots of time with these little girls. I've noticed the more time you spend with your plants the better they come out and the better you know your medicine. :smoking:
Enviro:
Dr 90 II tent, current temp is 77, 32 humidity.

Seeds:
Bagseed(about 1 1/2 wk)
Blackjack, Nirv(just popped)
Friend's 5 yr strain(just popped)

Medium:
Canna Coco w perlite & mycorrhizae

Nutes:
Canna Coco A/B, Rhizo, soon will be getting CalMag..

Light:
400 watt MH(veg) & HPS(bloom)

Vent:
6" exhaust 450 cfm, currently exhaust>ducting>Y/ceiling\ducting light\room
I'm waiting for the blower adapter to come for the dayton blower I will be using for the light. Also a fan that's circulating air throughout the tent.

There seems to be a lot of information about PH and coco, although it's probably best to keep track of your water's ph, I feel that using R/O water I should be safe. I may be kicking my ass later when it comes to any problems that may arise, but for now I'm going with intuition.:smoke: I'm also growing lettuce and cabbage for the family.

Thanks again for stopping by, look forward to meeting ya'll..:hippie:

Wait, are those cannabis seedlings in the long pot?! Doesnt look like em at all. Annnddd, you might wanna seperate them into their own containers.

I sure have. Check out the link in my signature. I have a white widow on day 40 flower in coco using the Head formula with GH nutes.

Nope, that's the lettuce and cabbage I'm also growing. They should be fine in the pot all together, they usually don't take up that much space. Thanks for stopping by, be sure to check back soon to see the blackjack and mystery strain veg up. They'll be in pots soon!

I had a Nirvana Blackjack in DWC that took a dump on me 30 days into flowering... I can't wait to grow it out in coco. It will be so bushy dude and it will not get very tall at all... mine was scrogged at 17 inches about the top of the bucket and some of the branches didn't make it to the screen...but it sure grows super wide! Just remember to keep that cal/mag at 5ml per gal and you will be just fine.

Sorry to hear about that Blackjack, irnhed. Saw the pictures and its such a heartbreak lossing your girl like that. But you could probably turn that into some dank hash out of it, have you seen the dry ice hash video? I was thinking about doing a DWC plant too, but it just seems like there's so many variables to look out for. Even with coco too, I'm still not too sure about the watering/feeding cycle, just going off of what they look like.. You got any pics of your Widow?

Update:
I potted the Blakcjack and mystery strain yesterday into a coco/perlite mix and they're lovin it. The bagseed has a couple leaves that look a little strange, couldn't really tell what it was, maybe nute burn? The soil is staying moist and disease free, hopefully, haha. I switched the light from the Sylvania MH to the Hortilux HPS this morning, but now I'm having second thoughts.. The color spectrum for the MH is 4000k and I just found out from the Hortilux site that their HPS is 2100k, and for that reason I'm thinking about changing back. Any thoughts?
How is everyone else doing today? Lemme know whats up! For now I gotta go take care of some business:bongin:

Pictures:
1. Group shot
2. Bagseed (Icarus Jack)
3. Blackjack (Thelma)
4. Mystery (C's Deluxe)
5. Lettuce & Cabbage :P

I have seen most folks with a MH/HPS setup use the MH for veg and the HPS for flower. This is because the color temp (K) of the MH is just right for veg, and the K of the HPS is just right for flower.

Ya dude you need to keep that MH bulb in there until you make the switch to 12/12 and then you can use the HPS for sure.

I'm gonna get my 220 micron bubble bag from my local hydro shop in a few days to make some dry ice hash with it. I have looked at all the other ways to make hash and this one is by far the easiest and highest producing method. I can't wait to try it out.

Just water a small bit a a time in the beginning. You will see how it works after the first couple weeks.. I always wait til its dry enough on top to move around like dirt and then I water again... super simple. With the perlite added for drainage too, it will be more difficult for you to over water anyways.

Alright, just switched back to MH. The plants, they thank you.

Yeah man, its surprising how much and easy it is to make! By the looks of your plant matter and what was used in the video, you're gonna have a grip.
Thanks for the watering info, I'll be sure to keep it in mind when feeding. I still need to get that cal/mag...

Anyways, there's some home-made pizza in the oven:yummy:

I cant help but to feel the electricity is being wasted on these plants that are so small that dont need all this extra light.. I'm putting my cfls back in until they grow a bit bigger and can actually use all the light being given to them. Complete.
Oh, the pizza got burnt last night haha..

Ha my girl makes me the same kind of homemade pan pizza all the time. It is so easy to make and still tastes delicious every time... it doesn't look too burnt to me.

Good idea putting the CFL's back in there.... just until the plants get a little older, then you can blast them again with the 400w.

That's an awesome setup. Clean. Precise. Professional. I wish mine looked a bit more like yours. Haha. I'm still trying to get the air circulation thing figured out. That seems to be the hardest part. Sometimes I wonder if buying a tent like you did would be the easy way to do it.

You are exactly right, much of the light is being wasted. CFL's or T5's are the way to go when they are seedlings.

Thank you, GreatGreen.:D Buying a tent is a good investment if you have the money, space, but not enough time to build your own set up. It's definitely the easy way out, haha. I was fortunate to already have the vent in the ceiling to hook up to. What does your current set-up look like now?

I like your set up. I've used Canna coco for a long time now. Love it. Just tried the boss cubes from botanicare --hate em and won't go back, but really dig their nutrients.
I don't have R/O water. it is well water that comes out of the ground way too acidic / rusty. i do use a pH correct (mostly ca++)/softener/iron out deal for the house. outside plants love the water. Have never tested much beyond a yearly what's coming out of the ground, how's the house doing? test. Never a problem with coco.
My old room consisted of 2 3ft flood trays/res; 8in inline fan.
4ooW lumitek ballasts. Using 430W super HPS from hortilux. the bulbs fire great, i grow same light all the way thru after transplant and love em.
My new set up is LED in a big converted frig. Electricity isn't getting cheaper. My new grow space is only 2 weeks into veg/scrogging.
Some great articles in the COCO forum if you haven't looked too much there yet.

Your set-up is quite the eye catcher. Canna seems like a super stiff company, but it is really easy so far with nutes and feeding.. I dont use any PH correct, just R/O water.. so I'm assuming you dont use any cal/mag because of the content in the house water? AskEd's coco is a great article I've found in the coco section, thanks! Hope your plants are doing great! Happy growing
