you should put some plants in there and see what happens.

the question is obvious and the answer seems to be also, but first to be sure we need more answers! first of which being is your ducting for your light being ran straight threw the tent fromone side of light to the other? or is one end of light open to suck air in from tent, then threw light to cool bulb out threw fan and finally pushed out of tent?

this matters because if its the first way i mentioned, there is nothing wrong with that but you will need a 2nd fan to exhaust heat from the rm itself and not just the light but this method isnt necessary unless youplan on running c02.

now if that is how your rms set up and you dont plan on running c02 then simply remove ducting from one side of light so that the air from the rm is pulled threw light and then out threw fan. this will cool your rm and light simultaneously.

another thing to note is the orientation of your fan in relation to your light and ducting. the fan should be set up so that it is sucking the air threw the light and out the tent opposed to blowing the air threw the light and out the tent. fans are 10X more effectient when sucking air out instead of trying to blow it out, so if that was the case once you swap position of fan your issue should be solved. also be sure to make sure that any and all lengths of ducting are as short and have the straightest most free flowing route as possible, the more bends and 90's in your ducting the more restrictions and turbulance will be built up which in turn lowers the cfm's your fan can sufficiently move threw your system.

if you still have question you should def check out this thread!:

You should give more details about your setup, otherwise you won't get too many replies. More likely than not, your exhaust fan can't handle the volume of your grow box, which is quite a biggie. You should either set your cool tube fan to suck fresh air from outside and blow it out directly, like onehitflix said, or install additional exhaust fans, cause blowing air on (or sucking air off, for that matter) the cool tube just like that (i.e. no ducting) will only keep your plants from getting heat burns, but the heat still builds up inside, cause you're just moving hot air from A to B. A 600W HPS bulb causes some serious heat and, oddly enough (or not), the bigger the grow box, the bigger the heat build up, because it's very likely that you're under-ventilating it. For example, I'd say a grow box half that volume but with the same lights and vents wouldn't have this problem, as the exhaust you have now will ventilate it properly (more or less).

lol my room is 87 degrees and my plants are lookin good. My plants have a few hours of 85-90 degrees heat a day. The temp then goes down to 78. Anyways ive grown really good weed in 85 degree temps. Just dont let it stay warmer than 85 for a constant temp. If it only peaks at 83 your are perfectly fine. Also run lights at night
