Can someone school me on foliar spraying in organics please.

  1. I'm always trying to learn, with that said my first grow I didn't really go for foliar feeding as to not complicate anything.

Now on my 2nd grow i'm open to trying it. I would just like to know any good recipes, methods or info I can get.

Right now I know that seaweed/kelp extract is good for foliar feeding and that I should foliar feed when lights come on, on the underside of leaves because that is where the stomata is located.

    any other advice is welcomed...

  2. I'm not a big foliar feeding guy but I 'LL post what I do.

I spray at lights out to avoid burning. I spray weekly or so with neem/karanja oil untill week three in flower. More if i see bugs. I don't spray flowers if i can avoid it. I spray more often in dry weather. Sometimes in veg they get a little alfalfa tea. Simply alfalfa meal soaked in water for a couple of days, strain and spray. I used to use a product called spray and grow, this works much better as a growth stimulant. Sometimes they might get a compost tea spray if I feel like straining it for the sprayer, so not often. lol In late veg I spray a humic acid plus mineral spray called LC 10+ 7, it's ten percent humic acid with 7 minor minerals. I just want the plants to be raring to go come flower time, calyxes to wall, as it were.....MIW

  3. Everybody's got their thing. I use simple molassas (Blackstrap unsulphured) spray. 1 tbsp per gallon. I spray everything til i see resin glands (trichomes, whatever you wanna call em). Plants love it, so i love it! Hope that helped...

    Every week the following:

1/4 cup of Horsetail Fern Tea (soluble Silica, Calcium, Sulphur, Magnesium, etc.)
1/2 cup of Comfrey Tea (everything)
1/4 cup of Yarrow Tea (same as Horsetail Fern with higher profiles of Sulphur and Silica)
1/4 cup of Aloe Vera Extract (been discussed over and over)
1 oz. of BioAg pure Fulvic Acid ('nuff said)

Add to sprayer and fill with aerated water to 1 gallon and apply.........

This mixture is a pesticide as well as a fungicide - among other things.

  5. damn...you guys really have a nice mix.

I've been looking into comfrey tea but possibly for my next grow...my situation is a complicated one...I can't brew my own teas (arrgghhh)

Right now I only have bottled nutes.
would say using neptunes harvest organic seaweed extract and roots organics trinity (a molasses product) be good to use?

Should I avoid using certain elements in a spray down?

So from your guys advice...would it be wise to water and spray on the same day at different times ( water when lights come on, spray when lights go out)? Or do them in intervals (plain watering and then foliar feed)?

    Interesting stuff is interesting, lol.

  11. Advice don't go bad, but Inkyscratches probably is not going to get an answer from a guy who made a post in 2011 is all.
