"Ice" Outdoor grow natural sun, once a week foxfarms beastie buds 0-50-30 fert. I have 3 plants, 2 of which are clones from the bigger plant (which is 6.5 ft tall now) and I'm having a hard time determining if the buds are close to done or not. They look kind of small. How much more time do you think? all image exif data scrubbed.

Also you could always buy a micro scope from radio shack $10 60x-100x. This should help you see the optimal flower crop. Not sure on the thread title on here. But look up optimal stage to crop or when should I crop of my plants. There's a lot of info on here. But I would wait up to nine weeks total... Right I know that there is an optimal time when all the pistles or whatever are turning orange but im having a hard time in distinguishing between damaged ones and ones that are actually aged. Thanks for the link.
NO they are not ready...just by looking at the pics no ..they will doublr or triple in size ...plus there still really white looking and little
Hold your horses. Go buy a 60x-100x microscope and take look at the stalk trichome ( You know the ones with the ball on their heads) at this early stage they will be standing straight and be clear give it a couple a more weeks and they will become a little amber and start to droop which is what should be optimal. Another option is too just wait a couple more weeks and go with your grower feeling. Don't worry your buds will become more plump and juicy.

Thanks for the link.[/quote] Its not the hairs that are geting you high. You want to be checking the tricomes colour not the hairs the best way to tell when to chop is by checking these. You can get scopes from the likes of ebay for next to nothing
The "hairs" recede into the bud, from what i researched and this is a good sign that its ready. I know the hairs don't get you high lol.
looking at these pics i would recommend another month they are not very dense. also by the color of the hairs they look to be too fresh.
Not even close. Just go buy a fat bag an wait. You want have any smoke out of that for at least 6 weeks including drying an curing.
Thanks for all the replies, this confirms what I had suspected, I was just concerned as it is getting late and colder now. I do remember now that this strain being a 50/50 of indica and sativa is usually ready in October.
I kno this has nun to do with my plants but sum1 tell me if this is dun, im not so sure ho PHP: w long it been growin... Maybe 3an half months to 4 an a half, but i hav a little shitty magnified glass but i think most trichs r cloudy but i dont see much amber at all what to do its in jus sum.cheap soil mixed with cowmanure gav it miracle grow a big but i personally dont like growin with chemicals so usually means i dont get very huge yeild, so here is a pic well i will try n post sum on my profile so take a look please, but till then any advice? N its jus a random seed i got it from mids but it grew into havin pink pistols that mostly turn purple wen dries n has nice orange hairs aswell n its in a 1 gallon pot.
