Hello everyone! gather round and join me for my first grow journal:hello: Id like to hear everyones opinions or input they have to share with me.

For now, ill be using 6 26 watt CFL. 4 are daylight and 2 of which are soft white.
Ill be using Fox Farm ocean Forrest and mixing in some perlite to increase drainage. The bad news is that i have no nutes at the moment and id like to possibly get by without using any but im coming to the realization that ill probably need some if i plan on getting quality nugz. Also im hoping that someone can educate me a little more on the subject.

This is the cabinet i will be using, im still working on light proofing it. its been a real pain and im starting to just not care since it will be in a closed off closet that will be in complete darkness.

And this is the inside of the cab, i expect it to maintain around 85 F. The Carbon Filter i found on a forum here at GC (http://forum.grassci...filter-diy.html) Im hoping it does its job but only time will tell.

I placed my order at Nirvana for 5 feminized short ryder autoflowering today so thats all i have left to wait on. Let me know what you guys think of the setup and ill update once i get those babys in soil

Looking pretty niffty.. I say wait on the nutes.. If you read My journal I just started, I use ffof and mixed it with ffhf.. Ffof is a pretty hot soil to start off in imo.. I just took pics today, and they have been in the soil for 11 days now with just plain tap water.. Let me know what you think, And btw I'll def be subbed along for your ride!!

Good luck, and Happy Growing bro!

I see 4 "outtakes" and no intakes. 3 of the "outtakes" have no filter, so the one filter you do have is useless. The three "outtakes" with no filter have no flexible duct to keep light out. I know you said screw messing with making it light tight because it's in a closet, but you'll be opening and closing the closet as it looks like you're still using the closet for other things. That's gonna screw up your dark periods. Make it light tight and reverse one of those fans to be intake. Put flexible ducting on all the intake and outtake ports. Re-rout as much of that electrical cord to the outside of the cab as possible and have it enter through the back through a hole at the top so that you minimize the possibility of getting it wet when and if the pot you grow in drains some water.

Iv experimented a lot with the fans and iv found that the intake fans are a little useless, before there were 4 outtakes there were 2 intakes and 2 outtakes and my temps were higher.. If i have just an open hole and im pushing all of the air out of the box wont pressure take over and suck air back in?? Also im still not too worried about the lights since my Dark periods will be while i sleep. I really like your idea for re-routing the cords though, iv been getting frustrated trying to figure out what to do with them so im gonna give your suggestion a hell of a try. im just not sure where it would all go.. i dont want it just loosely hanging on the outside either. maybe i could make a mini shelf or something

And your right about my carbon filter, i guess i didnt think about it enough before i went ahead and put it in. Maybe it'll slightly help or maybe not at all. Hopefully i can figure a way to just hook up two outtakes with the filters on them while maintaining a proper temp

You're right about the intakes not really requiring a fan.. the negative pressure created by sucking air out will cause air to come in, but if all of your ports are sucking air out, where will the air come in from?

I was actually talking hypothetically haha, iv decided to take the bottom two outtakes out to provide plenty of room for intake and then i should be able to filter the air better with two of the carbon filters. Also temp has been a problem for me reaching 90F at times so ill add more outtakes to the top of the cab if it is necessary.
By the way Axil, your whole setup and your babies are amazing! i hope to someday reach the same level you are at.

Quite the compliment. thank you. But I don't know half of what some of these guys around here know. I just happen to have the space and the cash at the time to buy fairly good stuff for this grow.... and hopefully grows to come. :) My first grow started out as "Huh...it would be kinda cool to have a plant in the living room just for fun." then it progressed to "Oh wait, you have to have this and that kind of lighting?" then "Well I guess I should do this in the basement then." so basically it was a card table, two plants and a 400 watt metal halide hanging from the ceiling in the basement.

Hello everyone, quick update..
I couldnt wait for my seeds from nirvana so i went ahead and germinated 4 of my own. 3 out of 4 popped so i went ahead and threw them in :hello:

I took my lower two Outtake fans out and just left a hole for there to be some intake and also noticed my top, most powerful, fan was only hooked to a 6v adapter so i swapped that out for a 12v and now there is atleast twice as much airflow coming from it.

I also forgot to tell you guys that theres actually two cabs.. i plan on having 2-3 plants in each. Right now i have 1 Jack Herrer in both and then just one unidentified dank seed in just one. The setups in each cab are a little different, the second cab is a bit more organized thank god haha.

1st picture is just an update on the first cab with the baby seedlings, to the left you can notice the hole where i removed the two outtake fans.

2nd picture is just an outside view of the second cab

3rd pic is the inside of the second cab.

Lemme know what you guys think, all comments and suggestions are welcome!

If temps are around the same as mine every 3-4 days would be good to start. keep the underside sprayed to, and use an air stone in you water while its waitin to be used.. I sprayed mine like that still and they love it.... just my thoughts tho...

I had a slight delay on seeds but now they are in the soil and a little over a week old. I need any ones advise on what might be wrong.. one is very very colorless, at one spot is even white on the leaf. both plants have bad yellowing and even brown spots. i think its a little nute burn.. i was thinking maybe because i am using Fox farm ocean forrest. i hear that this isnt ideal for seedlings. Any help is greatly appreciated
